Review by Matt Cummings The Transformers franchise is an interesting study in box office duality. Panned from the outset by critics, the series about Autobots and humans battling Decepticons to save Earth has resonated with fans, raking in over $3b worldwide. It's the one series that's been impervious to criticism, even though we all know Director Michael Bay's shtick by now. And while he claims (once again) that Transformers: The Last Knight will be his last, I sure hope he's good on his (ever-moving) word: this one is another disorganized mess that squanders its considerable assets with oddly-placed levity and harbors a fetish for slow-motion moments that minimize any potential story beats. Looks like Michael Bay is adding another Autobot from the sprawling roster of Robots In Disguise to Transformers: The Last Knight . And to be honest, it's one we thought he'd have included long before now: Hot Rod . As his description in the image above shows, Hot Rod will have his usual brash personality, and that he'll be supporting Bumblebee, which makes sense. We don't yet know what his vehicle form will be, but if we had to guess, we'd take a shot at some custom concept car. The Last Knight will bring together Age Of Extinction's Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg ) with previous film veterans Lennox ( Josh Duhamel ) and Epps ( Tyrese Gibson ) and new humans Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael, Laura Haddock and Anthony Hopkins . As for the robots, we can expect Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Drift, Megatron, Barricade and Onslaught, plus newcomer Sqweeks (or Squeeks, depending on who you ask).
