I Am Number 4 Movie Review By: SandwichJohn I went into this film hoping for more than I got. The movie was directed D. J. Caruso ( Disturbia ) , produced by Michael Bay (You think Action throughout) and a cast that starred Alex Pettyfer, Timothy Olyphant, Teresa Palmer, Dianna Agron, Kevin Durand, and Callan McAuliffe . But that was pretty much it. All the action was shown during the trailer. You would think by now we would figure that out, but sometimes you are hoping for more. You have to dream. There sure were some questions I had about this film while watching it, like why in the hell would a race from outer space need to drive a car? Timothy Olyphant Replaces Sharlto Copley In " I Am Number Four" Sharlto Copley has dropped out of the DreamWorks pic "I Am Number Four" and has been replaced by "Justified" star Timothy Olyphant. Copley, who rose to the top of studio casting lists after starring in breakout hit "District 9," had to bow out of the D.J. Caruso-helmed film due to scheduling conflicts with his upcoming press obligations for Fox's "The A-Team." But is this the real reason?  Filmdrunk has found out some interesting information on why Copley was replaced.  Sharlto Copley wanted wear a prosthetic nose and fake ears like Spock and look like an alien in the movie, while director DJ Caruso was adamant that the aliens were supposed to look just like regular humans, hence why they’re able to fit in. Hiding out on Earth, the title character, to be played by British actor Alex Pettyfer, disguises himself as a human high schooler, only to discover he’s still being hunted by his planet’s enemy. Agron will play a girl dating a high school jock who falls for Number Four and becomes his confidante. “Four” will be Agron’s big-studio debut. The role in the high-pedigree movie — Michael Bay is producing with Steven Spielberg, and D.J. Hiding out on Earth, the title character disguises himself as a human high schooler, only to discover he is being hunted still by his planet’s enemy. HarperCollins Children’s Books is publishing the book, which would be the first in a series of six, this fall. DreamWorks picked up film rights in June, with Michael Bay attached to produce and possibly direct.
