BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

TRAILER FOR UNDER THE SILVER LAKE

From the dazzling imagination that brought you It Follows comes a delirious neo-noir fever dream about one man's search for the truth behind the mysterious crimes, murders, and disappearances in his East L.A. neighborhood. Sam ( Andrew Garfield ) is a disenchanted 33-year-old who discovers a mysterious woman, Sarah ( Riley Keough ), frolicking in his apartment’s swimming pool. When she vanishes, Sam embarks on a surreal quest across Los Angeles to decode the secret behind her disappearance, leading him into the murkiest depths of mystery, scandal, and conspiracy in the City of Angels. From writer-director David Robert Mitchell comes a sprawling, playful and unexpected mystery-comedy detective thriller about the Dream Factory and its denizens—dog killers, aspiring actors, glitter-pop groups, nightlife personalities, It girls, memorabilia hoarders, masked seductresses, homeless gurus, reclusive songwriters, sex workers, wealthy socialites, topless neighbors, and the shadowy

Movie Review: Insidious: Chapter 3

Once more into the Further, dear friends. Review by Brandon Wolfe For a duo that earned their stripes with the disreputable gristmill of the Saw franchise, Directors James Wan and Leigh Whannell have turned out to be adept horror stylists. The two embarked on a successful second act of more supernatural, less torture-driven fright fare with 2010’s Insidious , about a family bedeviled by a Darth Maul impersonating demon fixated on their young son. Though haunted-house and possession thrillers have become dime-a-dozen in recent years, Insidious was uncommonly well-done. It crafted a thick air of foreboding, offered some genuinely unsettling imagery and featured unnecessarily strong performances from Rose Byrne and Patrick Wilson as the beleaguered parents. Wan went on to direct the even better spook-house thriller The Conjuring on his own before reuniting with Whannell for the less successful Insidious: Chapter 2 . Now that Wan has moved on to the big leagues with Furious 7 and is

It Follows Star Joins Independence Day Sequel

The First Daughter gets a facelift. By Brandon Wolfe Master of disaster Roland Emmerich has revealed via his Twitter account that It Follows star Maika Monroe has joined the cast of the rapidly assembling Independence Day sequel. Monroe will play the now-grown daughter of Bill Pullman’s President. Though Monroe is rightfully moving quickly up the ladder after her breakout performance in It Follows , the role of the President’s daughter was portrayed by actress Mae Whitman in the original film. Whitman, who remains a very active actress, seen in Arrested Development , Parenthood and, most recently, The Duff , was apparently not given the opportunity to reprise the role, striking up some controversy online about how that may be due to her being less Hollywood-glamorous than Monroe. If that is the case, it is indeed a shame, especially for a sequel that has seemed to take pains to bring back as many original ID4 actors as possible. In related news, Will Smith is still not

Movie Review: It Follows

Not Just Another Horror Flick. WARNING: This review contains major spoilers. Review by David Clark The anticipated wide theatrical release of the independent film It Follows is close at hand. This should be good news for fans of the horror genre. The film follows a group of high school students as they deal with the intricacies of peer pressure, social anxiety, sexual tension, and relationships that have plagued teenagers for generations. The main stars in the movie are Maika Monroe (Jay), Lili Sepe (Kelly), Keir Gilchrist (Paul), Olivia Luccardi (Yara), Jake Weary (Jeff), and Daniel Zovatto (Greg). The cast that commanded the majority of the screen time for this movie has little experience in the film industry. They are also a fairly young group, mostly in their early-to-mid twenties, which makes sense considering they are portraying a group of teenagers. Despite being young in the industry and life, these actors and actresses put forth a believable and entertainin
