BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Zack Snyder's ARMY OF THE DEAD Trailer

From filmmaker Zack Snyder (300, Watchmen, Zack Snyder’s Justice League), ARMY OF THE DEAD takes place following a zombie outbreak that has left Las Vegas in ruins and walled off from the rest of the world. When Scott Ward ( Dave Bautista ), a former zombie war hero who’s now flipping burgers on the outskirts of the town he now calls home, is approached by casino boss Bly Tanaka ( Hiroyuki Sanada ), it’s with the ultimate proposition: break into the zombie-infested quarantine zone to retrieve $200 million sitting in a vault beneath the strip before the city is nuked by the government in 32 hours. With little left to lose, Ward takes on the challenge, assembling a ragtag team of experts for the heist. With a ticking clock, a notoriously impenetrable vault, and a smarter, faster horde of Alpha zombies closing in, only one thing’s for certain in the greatest heist ever attempted: survivors take all.      Starring Dave Bautista, Ella Purnell, Omari Hardwick, Ana de la Regu...

Movie Review: 'Mr. Holmes'

Ian McKellen is terrific as the aging sleuth, but is it worth your time? Review by Matt Cummings With so much Sherlock Holmes in our lives today, the central question behind Sir Ian McKellen's latest Mr. Holmes is this: do audiences want to see a Sherlock Holmes near the end of his life? While that answer will play out in the theaters, its slow burn and story holes might ultimately keep people away that were expecting the Robert Downey Jr version. Thirty years after retiring from solving crimes, the 93-year-old Sherlock Holmes (McKellen) has left urban London to settle at the seaside Kent. But the heroic sleuth is not well: hampered by growing dementia, Holmes is also haunted by his last case, in which a young husband's concerns of infidelity led to something far worse. As Holmes struggles to recount the event for a book he's writing, he must deal with the frosty Mrs. Munro (Laura Linney) and her bright Holmes-like son Roger (Milo Parker) who manage the Ken...

Railway Man Review: Oddly Placed Drama Won't See Much Love

The Colin Firth/Nicole Kidman PTSD drama Railway Man fails to build desperately needed momentum.  Review by: Matt Cummings  With America once again exiting the stage of war, we've had a chance to see our men and women of the armed service grapple with the manacle that is PTSD. At the end of WWII, men returned as different people, fundamentally altered by their experiences but content to bear that burden alone. And while the drama Railway Man attempts to portray these struggles in a forgive/forget piece, the lack of momentum is painful to deal with. British Army veteran As Eric Lomax (Colin Firth) is a shy, stoggy sort with an enduring passion for railroads. His knowledge of English railway timelines makes him at first seem like a lonely social misfit trivia, until a chance meeting with Patti (Nicole Kidman) aboard a train in 1980 convinces him to make friends. In a blink, the couple is married, enjoying a mid-life romance that soon turns dark, as Lomax b...
