Ghostbusters 3 Casting News

Ghostbusters 3 Casting News As you’ll have heard, Ghostbusters 3 is a lock for a Fall 2011 start . And casting is going to kick off soon in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. FFA has the casting announcement, saying they’re looking for actors… but don’t specify which roles. They do, however, have a synopsis that insinuates the film will feature a band of new, young recruits, so one might assume that’s who they’re looking to cast. What's Playing dropped a friend at line in Oak Lawn, who works in casting. While he hasn’t got specifics - dates and so on - he said has given the heads up that Sony will be auditioning “young male and female actors aged 18-30″ for a role in the film. Upon reading those reports that Anna Faris is onboard I dropped a contact at Sony a line. Asked whether he knew anything about Ms Scary Movie being onboard, he replied “Dunno. First I’ve heard of it. Heard Will Forte ’s name mentioned and Bill Hader , but not Faris. I’m not in on all that thou...

Columbia Pictures Doesn't Want Reitman For Ghostbusters 3

Columbia Pictures Doesn't Want Reitman For Ghostbusters 3 Seems like Columbia Pictures doesn't want Ivan Reitman to direct the upcoming film Ghostbusters 3, they feel that they should go in a different direction and get a younger director for the film. In the same sense as they have done to the Spider-Man franchise by hiring on (500) Days of Summer director Marc Webb. But hold on Columbia,Reitman's old contract — made at the height of his and Ovitz's powers — still gives him exceptional creative control over the series, including director approval. "Those deals were made in the eighties,” explains one insider. “So his rights in this circumstance have a great deal of teeth.” Therefore, while it’s true that Reitman can’t force Columbia to make Ghostbusters III with him, he can make it nearly impossible for the studio to make the film without him. In fact, a source tells us that Reitman and all three original principals (Dan Aykroyd, Bill Murray, and Harold Ramis …...

Eliza Dushku Talks Ghostbuster 3 and Teaming Up Again With Joss Whedon

Eliza Dushku Talks Ghostbuster 3 and Teaming Up Again With Joss Whedon Dan Aykroyd, 57, has been tossing around the possibility of a third Ghostbusters flick since early 2009, but will it finally come to fruition with five new Ghostbusters, as he planned? Eliza Dushku certainly hopes so – especially because longtime friend Dan wants her on board! “I don’t know anything, I don’t have a script – it’s still a rumor thing right now” . She added, “But I would be excited to do it! Dan is a friend since I was a young, and I love [original star Sigourney Weaver] and would love to zip on a proton pack!” Other new projects, Eliza is plotting a feature film further down the pipeline with Dollhouse creator Joss Whedon, 45 – but coyly refuses to tell us its content. “I would say that we would [be working on something new very soon]!” she confided to us. “I think we’re going to work on a kickass feature together that we’ve been thinking about for a few years.” After appearing sexy bad girl programs ...

Ghostbusters 3 Bill Murphy Confirmed Bill Murphy has confirmed his involvement with the upcoming Ghostbusters 3 film. This is great news for fans out there. In Jaunary we brought you some news from Sigourney Weaver when she spilled the beans on how they were going to take the movie. It's been rumored that Murray’s character Dr. Peter Venkman would appear in Ghostbusters 3 as a ghost. This is another bit of news that he's confirmed. In fact, it was his idea. He explains in the interview that he wouldn't do the movie unless he was a ghost! Here's what he had to say, I ’ll come back in Ghostbusters III only if I get to be a ghost. I said to them, ‘I’ll do it if you kill me off in the first reel.’ So now they are going to have me as a ghost in the film. Please Leave A Comment- Source- mailonline

Ivan Reitman To Direct Ghostbuster 3

Ivan Reitman To Direct Ghostbuster 3 A few weeks ago, "Ghostbusters" writer and star Harold Ramis revealed that the long-awaited third movie in the series is planned for a 2011 release. This news broke only a short time after "Avatar" star Sigourney Weaver speculated that Bill Murray's character Pete Venkman might appear in the movie as a slimer ghost, and that Oscar, her character's son from the second movie, would be a full-fledged Ghostbuster. Ivan Reitman, director and producer of the first two movies, stopped to chat,he shied away from addressing Weaver's spoiler-y speculation, but he did have some things to say about the general state of development for "Ghostbusters III." Ivan Reitman Reitman said: That the script from "Year One" writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky is in and that a second draft is currently in the works. He also confirmed that he will indeed be returning to direct the coming sequel, as had been previousl...

Ghostbusters 3 To Be In Theaters In 2011

Ghostbusters 3 To Be In Theaters In 2011 Here comes the Ghostbusters question: What’s up with part three? Something’s going to happen. Dan [Aykroyd] did write a spec GB3 screenplay a few years ago, but no one was motivated to pursue it. Now, 25 years after the original, there seems to be some willingness to proceed and apparently a substantial public appetite for a sequel. We’ll introduce some new young Ghostbusters, and all the old guys will be in it, too. Think Christopher Lloyd in Back to the Future ... GB3 is progressing with plans to shoot next summer and release in 2011 … Oh, and I have two one-of-a-kind Ghostbuster yarmulkes sent by fans. Ghostbusters 3 Spoiler Sigourney Weaver Spills The Slime

Ghostbusters 3 Spoiler Sigourney Weaver Spills The Slime Channel 4 news in the UK recently did an interview with Sigourney Weaver to talk about the upcoming James Cameron film Avatar. During the interview she started talking about Ghostbusters 3 So here is what Weaver had to say: Don’t know if I’m going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking "would you read the script." To me it looks like she has already taken a look at the script. I know that my little son Oscar, who was kidnapped from me… I think he has grown up to be a Ghostbuster. Oscar was the little baby in Ghostbusters 2 that was kidnapped in the film. I might be in it, I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don’t think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it… he’s a ghost. What Dr. Peter Venkman as a ghost? What happened? Did they kill him off and he returns from the dead. Can not wait to hear more news on this film. Please Leave A Comment- Source-UKChannel4

Men In Black 3 Coming Soon

Men In Black 3 Coming Soon In a long-anticipated move, Columbia Pictures is pushing forward with a third installment in the "Men in Black" franchise. Studio has tapped "Tropic Thunder" scribe Etan Cohen to pen "Men in Black 3." There are no deals in place for the franchise's stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, though it's unlikely that Columbia would greenlight the project without the duo's involvement. Columbia made a similar move in reviving another lucrative franchise when it began work last year on a new "Ghostbusters." At the time, the studio tapped a hot pair of scribes in Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky to bring a modern twist to the supernatural comedy. With the exception of mega-property "Spider-Man," Columbia has few franchises in its vault to draw upon. The Bond franchise has reverted back to MGM. "Ghostbusters" was Columbia's highest-grossing film ever until it was beaten by "Men in Black...

Marvel and Sony's Impact At The Brand Licensing Expo

Marvel and Sony's Impact At The Brand Licensing Expo The Brand Licensing Europe event is going on in London’s Olympia, Selling Big name Franchises. So what is the presence of Marvel and Sony on the floor? At the Brand Licensing Exhibition in London today, the Iron Man 2, Avengers and Thor movies were being promoted to potential licensees. Marvel didn’t have much of a presence per se but instead had a massive Stark Industries booth with the five Iron Man suits from San Diego and a bunch of Stark Industries security guards. It’s worth noting that both Iron Man 2 and Thor are being promoted with an “Avengers Assemble” tag. They are so going to milk the tie-ins here. The Thor logo is chunky, and stone-like, very different from the image above seen previously, while the Avengers logo is similar but uses a greyed out Captain America-like shield. And elsewhere in the show, while Sony were trying to hide it from certain preying eyes, it seems official, there is a Ghostbusters 3 movie being...
