George Miller Rumored to Direct Man of Steel Sequel

Superman's road ahead could be filled with fury. By Brandon Wolfe Warner Bros. has come up with a sure-fire way to get the Internet excited about a sequel to its least-favorite movie of Summer 2013 - hire the director of its favorite movie of Summer 2015. George Miller, the 70-year-old madman who showed Hollywood's young whippersnappers how it's done with this summer's insane Mad Max: Fury Road , is rumored to be taking the reins from Zack Snyder for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel. This word comes from Jon Schnepp, the director of the crowdfunded documentary The Death of 'Superman Lives': What Happened? , who confidently revealed Miller's involvement on the latest episode of his podcast. Through his work on the documentary, Schnepp made many contacts with people in the know about all things Superman, so he is perhaps in a position to know what he's talking about. Plus, Miller was once involved with an earlier version of Justice League in the mid-

George Miller Promises Another 'Mad Max' Movie

The director Tweets out thanks and a promise that has the Internet swooning. Story by Matt Cummings If the stunning success and critical love which Mad Max: Fury Road has received since its release wasn't enough to prove that the nearly 40-year-old franchise is still alive and kicking, then the following bit of news is merely the proof fans have been waiting for. In the typical interview roundabout that actors and directors go on to press their newest film, Actor Tom Hardy had stated several times that he's actually singhed to play the titular anti-hero for two more films. But without a guarantee as to whether anyone would care to see the fourth installment of the post-apocalyptic grit-fest, that promise was mostly rang empty. Until today. Miller, the mind behind the mayhem, tweeted out the following this afternoon, conmfirming that another Mad Max is alrwady in the works: Hello Twitter! Thanks for all the kind words written and said about the film. We had

Movie Review: 'Mad Max: Fury Road'

The spectacle of Mad Max: Fury Road is equaled only by its uncompromising brutality. Review by Matt Cummings The Mad Max franchise is one whose fans cling to it like the last tank of gasoline on planet Earth, while others state and wonder, "What's the big deal? Simply put, the franchise is one of the most brutal, thunderously loud and oddly-cast in movie history. Filled with memorable and outright weird characters like the hockey-masked Humungous to the assless-chapped Dex in The Road Warrior , to Master/Blaster and Pig Killer in Beyond Thunderdome , the entire experience can be difficult for some to get through. But with its trend-setting action sequences and dark, gritty tone, Mad Max has endured since it premiered in 1979. Its follow-up/reboot/sequel Mad Max: Fury Road is a spectacle of vehicle manslaughter, furthered by images that could be some of the most disturbing in recent film. Set in the mire of a post-apocalyptic world, one-man wrecking crew M

Welcome to Mad Max: Fury Road!

New plot details emerge and EW's released a cover. While many SJF writers tend to chide yours truly over the my use of the word 'dystopian' to describe the onslaught of post-apocalyptic films over the past year, one cannot argue that it works. Unfortunately, not all dystopian films have met with great success, including this year's bomb Transcendence . But luckily, the film that made 'post-apocalyptic' a household word is soon returning, and Entertainment Weekly has all the details. Mad Max: Fury Road is a continuation of George Miller's classic series, which has become nothing short of a cult classsic. Starring Mel Gibson in the titular role, the series dealt with the former cop Max driving through the wilds of Australia, searching for fuel and attacking the various gangs which took over as the government collapsed. Mad Max has been on a long hiatus, but Fury Road looks to return the series back to where it's meant to be: on top. Test screen

Mad Max: Fury Road Heads For Re-Shoots

After multiple delays caused mostly by weather, George Miller finally got the cameras cranking last year and spent six months shooting Mad Max: Fury Road . But even though he wrapped in December, there has still been no release of pictures, trailers or anything much else from the film. Now we know one reason why: it’s still not quite finished, with Miller planning to reunite the cast for three weeks of additional shooting in Australia this November. Of course, talk of new shooting always sends warning flares up about troubled productions, and indeed more filming (especially after such a lengthy shoot) adds fuel to that fire. But additional shots have become de rigueur these days for bigger films, and this may have been part of the plan all along. Still, this is one film that, like World War Z , could definitely do without the added negativity surrounding the idea. While the further delay before getting started on the new material seems odd, don’t forget that the cast includes T

Justice League Movie: What Could Have Been

Justice League Movie: What Could Have Been A few years ago, Australian director George 'Mad Max' Miller assembled a group of young actors to play DC Comics' iconic superhero squad the Justice League Of America. Armie Hammer (Batman), D.J. Catrona (Superman), Adam Brody (The Flash) and Megan Gale (Wonder Woman) would have led the cast with Jay Baruchel and Teresa Palmer . You were going to work with Teresa Palmer a while ago on a Justice League movie... "It's weird talking about it because the blogosphere was not very kind to us - they're looking for anything to s**t on! The two of us were going to do that, it sounds really strange out of context, had you read the script it would have made perfect sense." Do you think it would have won around the blogosphere? "I'll just say this, if we had been able to make the movie that we had gone down [to Australia] to rehearse, if you had seen the production art I'd seen... it would've be

Matt Damon and Brad Pitt To Lend Their Voices To Happy Feet 2?

Matt Damon and Brad Pitt To Lend Their Voices To Happy Feet 2? My little girl has been a huge fan of this film since she first laid eyes on it. Every Penguin she s ee's is called Mumbo . Dam film started her hoarding addiction with penguin dolls. Should I give A&E a call? So to my joy they are making a second film, and I can't wait to add to her collection. Matt Damon and Brad Pitt haven’t made a movie together since Ocean’s Thirteen, but Movieline hears that the two actors have both been cast in an upcoming film directed by George Miller. No, not Miller’s Mad Max reboot starring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron. I’m warning you, temper your expectations a little. Pitt and Damon will both be voicing characters in Miller’s Happy Feet 2, a 3-D sequel to his 2006 animated film. They’ll be joining original cast members who include Robin Williams and Elijah Wood. Warner Bros. refused comment on the casting, but Movieline sources say that it’s a done deal — in fact, both Pitt a

Teresa Palmer Lands Lead Role In Mad Max 4 Fury Road

Teresa Palmer Lands Lead Role In Mad Max 4 Fury Road Jay Baruchel told reporters interviewing him for the new Dreamworks film How To Train Your Dragon that Palmer, who splits her time between Australia and Hollywood, was preparing for a gruelling shoot on the new Mad Max episode. "She gets to work with him, and she's (going to be) doing Mad Max 4 with Miller," Baruchel said. The actor, who counts Palmer as a very good friend after working with her on the Sorcerer film, said he didn't know the character's exact name, but believed it was the female lead. "She's the main chick in Fury Road," he said. "She's going to be there for over a year. It's really, really cool." Palmer could not be contacted yesterday, but on Thursday night appeared very upbeat with her new best mate Lara Bingle and boyfriend Nash Edgerton at a Sydney film festival. Details are secret so it's not known if Palmer will replace or star with Charlize Theron,

George Miller Talks Progress Of Mad Max 4

George Miller Talks Progress Of Mad Max 4 This is one of those films they should just leave alone. Another one of those let's bank on the name of the franchise and make some money and then flop in the second week of the showing. Enough is enough already. Didn't anyone watch Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome , What a shit movie. And to hear Mel Gibson not going to be in the film. Forget about it. My money is on them trying to get Sam Worthington to play a huge role in the film or some part in the movie. But who am I? A little fish in a HUGE bowl. "All the vehicles are hybrids cobbled together from the wrecks of the past," says Miller, standing next to a couple of parked-up examples. "They'll have to be very high performance because the film is shot at speed. The reason this movie's so big is it's got just a huge number of stunts. We're trying to do stuff that I believe people haven't done before." He says it'll take another year to build th
