With the final chapter in Peter Jackson’s Hobbit trilogy, The Battle Of The Five Armies , steadily marching towards our cinemas, Warner Bros. has launched a hefty new piece of tapestry art showing some of the various conflicts and forces featured in the film. Take a look courtesy of Digital Spy… For those who may not have read the book, beware spoilers from this point on. The Battle Of The Five Armies, of course, sees Goblins and Wargs (one army, supported by nasty bats) face off against dwarves, elves, men and giant eagles (four much smaller armies) in a quest to gain control of Erebor (the Lonely Mountain) and Smaug's treasures within. In the book, Bilbo spends much of the conflict unconscious; we wonder whether that will still be the case onscreen? One change this time should see the Orcs being led by the still-very-much loose Necromancer (Benedict Cumberbatch), making them even more formidable. The first trailer for Peter Jackson's The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies has been released. Originally titled There and Back Again , the film changed its name in April in reference to the epic battle involving many known characters from goblins and dwarves to elves and men as legions of orcs descend upon the Lonely Mountain under Sauron's command. Guillermo del Toro Has Left The Hobbit

Guillermo del Toro Has Left The Hobbit I've got some pretty terrible news for all of you. I hate to be the barer of bad news, but Guillermo del Toro is no longer going to direct The Hobbit . Last week Del Toro gave an update on what was currently going on with The Hobbit, and I knew if something didn't actually start happening quick the production would start falling apart, and now Del Toro has dropped out of the project. This is all due to MGM's financial problems. They can't seem to get it together, and Del Toro just couldn't wait around anymore. After all... he's got a ton of other film projects that he wants to start working on. Del Toro announced the news himself through the Lord of the Rings fan site The One Ring . So, Del Toro will not direct The Hobbit, but he will continue to collaborate with Peter Jackson, Fran Walsh and Philippa Boyens on the films scripts, until they are completely done.
