Glee Picked Up For A Third Season

Glee Picked Up For A Third Season Fans of the hit musical comedy TV series Glee will be happy to hear that it has been picked up for a third season! I was hooked on the show when they showed the pilot episode at Comic Con last year and I haven't looked back. The third season was announced by Peter Rice, Chairman, Entertainment, Fox Networks Group; and Kevin Reilly, President, Entertainment, Fox Broadcasting Company, and here is the official press release. "In just one year, 'Glee' has transcended the television landscape and emerged as a global pop culture phenomenon," said Rice. "We are incredibly proud to have talent like Ryan Murphy and the 'Glee' cast in our Fox family, and we can't wait to see where Ryan takes the show in Seasons Two and Three." 24 Movie Getting Closer To Reality Looks like Jack Bauer might be making his way to the big screen soon. Fox hasn't decide to pick the show up for the 9th season yet, but there is talks that Billy Ray ( Man behind State of Play) Maybe writing a script. Looks like it is all going to depend on how the ratings for the show are this year to whether they make the movie. In January, star Kiefer Sutherland told EW that he’d love to do a movie (“It would be a two-hour representation of a day”) and thinks the TV show can actually be done at the same time. ”I actually tried to convince a few people of this. In a media world that is changing unbelievably fast, a television series can either act as a great trailer for a film, or a film can act as a great trailer for a television series. And I think the first person who actually does that is going to change the way television interacts with feature films. “I think the resistance to it is because, in my father’s generation, if you did film...

Fox's Glee Picked Up For Season 2

Fox's Glee Picked Up For Season 2 Was this really a surprise, since I got a glimpse of the show at comic con, I knew I was going to love this show and it turns out so do a lot of other people. But the early pickup will allow the show's producers to start planning season two now , and will also allow Fox to conduct a nationwide casting search to fill three new roles on the show. The "Glee" casting competition gets underway in February, and will be produced as a multi-part special to air in late summer , leading to the fall launch of "Glee's" sophomore season. "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy said the second season competish is in the vein of his initial talent search to find "Glee's" breakout cast. American Idol To Go On Without Simon Cowell

American Idol To Go On Without Simon Cowell Fox is near a deal to order more seasons of "American Idol" -- with or without its most popular judge, Simon Cowell. The network's current contract with "Idol" producer 19 Entertainment and FremantleMedia extends through the end of the 2011 season. But the network is working on a new deal that includes three seasons of "Idol," though that number could still change. The announcement is expected to demonstrate Fox's commitment to its top-rated series, even as "Idol" faces its biggest challenge yet. The "Idol" franchise has been rocked by rumors that Cowell will depart the show after the upcoming season as he prepares to bring his hit UK music competition series "X-Factor" to the states. Cowell's brother Tony announced Tuesday on his weekly podcast that Simon will leave "Idol" at the end of 2010. The move could have a double impact on "Idol" -- the loss o...

Bryan Singer To Direct "X-Men: First Class"

Bryan Singer To Direct "X-Men: First Class" Singer first mentioned that he'll be working on the project while talking to MySpace last night at "Avatar" premiere. At this time neither Fox nor Marvel has had official comment, but sources close to the matter say that yes, Singer is on board in a big way. The "develop" news insinuates that the last script by Josh Schwartz may not be in Singer's future plans. It was expected that the new film would tell the story of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Beast and other familiar characters as teenagers when they first meet Professor Charles Xavier and join his School for Gifted Youngsters. The premise has been rumored for sometime, but was hinted at with a subplot of "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" which featured early incarnations of Cyclops and Emma Frost (aka The White Queen) among others. It's unclear if Singer's intention to bring a new vision to the film will change that scenario. The irony of Singer ...

Idina Menzel To Join "Glee" As A Coach Meet Will Schuester's new rival. Broadway star Idina Menzel is in negotiations to recur on Fox's "Glee." Menzel, who is expected to appear in all of the remaining nine episodes of the season, will play the coach to glee club Vocal Adrenaline, the McKinley High glee club's main competition. Menzel had said she is a big fan of "Glee" and its young star Lea Michele, also a Broadway pro. Because of Menzel and Michele's similar musical theater background and strong resemblance, fans had been lobbying for Menzel to appear on the show as Rachel Berry's (Michele) biological mother. They've got their wish ... sort of. Menzel won a Tony for her role on "Wicked." Her co-star on the show, Kristin Chenoweth, guest starred on "Glee" earlier this season. Menzel is the second Broadway name to recur on "Glee" this spring. Jonathan Groff, who co-starred opposite Michele in the Broad...

With the rebellion in trouble, young Skywalker must take the advice of his late, and rather lascivious, mentor Obi-Wan Kenobi (Herbert) and learn the ways of the “farce” under Jedi Master Yoda (Carl) to save the galaxy once and for all.
