Driving into its second week of release, Fast & Furious 8 continues to lead the pack in terms of box office results in the States and across the world. The latest entry into the successful franchise has now crossed $163.5 million in the US after adding $38.68 million according to studio estimates. While that represents a 60% drop from its opening weekend, the new film is still going great guns, and its global performance is even better. With strong showings in China and elsewhere, Fast 8 is closing in on a billion dollars worldwide after just two weekends on release. That $908.3 million is breaking records and seems set to stick around for a while. Fate of the Furious delivers more stunts and more action but seemingly less of everything else.
