BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Movie Review: Everybody Wants Some!!

You’ll want some too. Review by Brandon Wolfe Starting with his 1991 debut film Slacker , Richard Linklater has made slice-of-life moviemaking his stock in trade. From the grad-night exploits of Dazed and Confused to the long-term relationship examination of the Before... trilogy to the meticulous analysis of an entire childhood in Boyhood (the true best film of 2014, Birdman be damned), Linklater is less interested in plot mechanics and narrative strictures than he is with simple human interaction and small yet defining life moments. His films often have a free-floating hangout vibe, content as he is to simply spend time with his characters and relish in their musings and connections. His movies feel like relaxed afternoons with friends rather than capital-C cinema. Dubbed by the director himself as a “spiritual sequel” to Dazed and Confused , Everybody Wants Some!! is another low-key Linklater soiree. As with its spiritual prequel, the film is a nostalgia-hued period piece

SandwichJohn's 22 Most Anticipated Films Of 2016

Here is my personal most anticipated list for 2016. I am sure I have missed a few films that will end up on our radar later this year. Hail, Caesar! (February 5) The latest film from the Coen brothers features Josh Brolin as a Hollywood studio “fixer” in the 1950s, charged with tracking down a buffoonish star (George Clooney) who’s been kidnapped while filming a sword-and-sandal epic. Deadpool (February 12) The Marvel superhero Deadpool gets his own stand alone film. Ryan Reynolds plays the mercenary with a mouth who has little regard for human life, including his own. The film is scripted by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland). Tim Miller is set to make his directorial debut Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 25) DC’s efforts to match Marvel’s cinematic universe kick off here, with this superhero showdown between Batman (Ben Affleck) and Superman (Henry Cavill), plus appearances from other DC icons including Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Aquaman and more.
