Director Neill Blomkamp , who has brought us films such as District 9 and Elysium , was developing an Alien film, but has apparently scrapped work on the project. It would have been part of the same franchise from Ridley Scott and James Cameron , and we have some concept art to share with you that shows how cool it would have looked. Blomkamp revealed the news himself on his Instagram page along with several illustrations that were done for it. I've included the notes from the director that came along with each piece of art. The first one you see above came with the following caption: "Was working on this. Don't think I am anymore. Love it though. #alien #xenomorph" He also posted the following comments on Twitter: "Ps this has nothing to do with the studio. I just feel like I might do something else instead.
