BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Kevin Costner Heading To "Trial" On Amazon

Deadline is reporting that Kevin Costner is up for the lead in one of Amazon's pilots. The Oscar winner is in negotiations to star in Trial , the Amazon Studios drama from The Practice, Ally McBeal and Picket Fences creator David E. Kelley . With him on board, the project would get a 10-episode straight-to-series order. David Semel, who has directed the pilots for such series as Heroes, Person Of Interest, Madam Secretary , and most recently, CBS’ upcoming Code Black and Amazon’s The Man In The High Castle , is expected to direct. The legal drama, which Kelley co-wrote with his Practice and Boston Legal producer, fellow former attorney Jonathan Shapiro, centers on Billy McBride (the role that Costner is in talks for). Once a big and powerful lawyer, Billy has become a shell of his former self, an alcoholic in a rumpled suit. Billy’s downfall came after he lost a case that saw an innocent kid murdered, and his guilt-driven alcoholism cost him his wife and his job after his

Wonder Woman Coming To CW

A year after NBC rejected David E. Kelley's Wonder Woman , the CW is prepping its own take on the DC Comics super hero. Grey's Anatomy's Allan Heinberg is attached to write Amazon (working title), an origin story about Wonder Woman's alter ego Diana of Themyscira, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. As first reported by Vulture, the project will focus on Wonder Woman as a budding hero rather than the already established personality that existed in Kelley's take that starred Friday Night Lights' Adrianne Palicki . "As well crafted and contemporized as it was, it was a big and radical shift for viewers to embrace this new idea -- and that may, to some degree, have had to do with why it didn’t make it," Warner Bros. TV president Peter Roth told THR last year, noting at the time that Wonder Woman's future at another network was to be determined. The CW's Amazon is in the early stages of development and there is no script order attached

Erica Durance Becomes Wonder Woman For A Day In Harry’s Law

Anyone who has longed to see Erica Durance channel the Wonder Woman are going to see their dream come true — albeit perhaps via the unlikeliest of circumstances. The Smallville alumna is set to guest-star on NBC’s Harry’s Law — which currently airs Wednesdays at 9/8c and was just picked up for a full second season — as a psychologically infirm woman who retreats into the persona of the DC Comics heroine to help wreak revenge on perpetrators of domestic abuse. Durance will appear in the legal dramedy’s 11th episode, which given NBC’s midseason schedule change-up does not at this moment have a firm air date. Ironically, this storytelling twist affords Harry’s Law creator David E. Kelley the chance anew to tap into the Wonder Woman mythos, after his pilot starring Adrianne Palicki as the Amazonian princess didn’t make the Peacock’s 2011-12 schedule. In fact, that coupled with the fact that Harry’s Law, like Wonder Woman, is a Warner Bros. property, raises the possibility t

NBC's Wonder Woman Pictures & Pilot Review

ifanboy got their hands on the pilot from the never aired David E. Kelley’s Wonder Woman show on NBC. They were also able to take some screen shots from the show,    Adrianne Palicki  as Wonder Woman. Not bad right?  I really wish they would have given the show a shot and let the fans be the judge. Hopefully it will end up somewhere. . For contextual purposes, you might want to check out their review of the script before reading my review of the pilot. WHAT CHANGED FROM THE SCRIPT? While the overall plot remains the same, many of the details changed. Some notable elements that are missing from the pilot are: Themyscira – Throughout the script Wonder Woman constantly flashed back to her time on Paradise Island including her warrior training and meeting and falling for Steve Trevor. None of this appears in the pilot. Myndi Mayer – In the script she is Diana’s best friend and the press secretary at Themyscira Industries. She does not appear at all in the pilot; instead

NBC's Wonder Women's Full Costume. What Could Have Been

Ah what could have been if  NBC they didn't jump the pilot for the Wonder Women show. MMMMMM Today we get a full shot of Adrianne Palicki in the full, final Wonder Woman costume that would have been seen in the TV series, if the pilot had been picked up, star spangled shorts and all. She is in something closer to the Lynda Carter's outfit we all loved. And I have no clue who that freakishly scary guy next to her is maybe a villain on the show? Why Wonder Woman Didn't Get Pickup

Though he picked up plenty of high-profile projects like Playboy, The Firm and Prime Suspect , NBC Entertainment Chairman Robert Greenblatt knew he’d have to answer for the one project he didn’t greenlight: What the heck was wrong with Wonder Woman and why didn’t it make the schedule? Not surprisingly, Greenblatt was diplomatic about the reboot from Warner Bros. TV and David E. Kelley (after all, the uber-producer is also the man behind Harry’s Law, which earned a second season pickup). “I hate to disappoint anybody. I know there are legions of fans of the original show,” Greenblatt told EW. “I don’t know if it’s cursed or what. I just have this one experience. They made a really fine pilot and Adrianne Palicki did a fantastic job. You look at what you have, what you need, and it just didn’t seem to fit in with what we were doing. “We did what was best for the schedule,” Greenblatt continued. “It does give one pause. You’re almost damned if you and damned if you don’t. It’s tricky

Wonder Woman TV Show Not Given A Chance

This spring, no pilot was more buzzy, controversial, or intensely scrutinized than " Wonder Woman ." But evidently, buzz is not enough to overcome the stink of a misbegotten failure: This week, NBC declined to pick up the show. The news comes as the networks prepare for their upfront presentations (where they unveil their fall schedules for advertisers). " Wonder Woman " would have seemed to be a sure thing: It was produced by David E. Kelley, whose TV successes with the network date back to "L.A. Law," and starred geek-bait stars like Cary "The Princess Bride" Elwes and Elizabeth "Austin Powers" Hurley. But reports of its abysmal script (which was later rewritten, to slightly more positive effect) seem to have been borne out in a pilot episode NBC could not approve. The ongoing agita over the design of the title character's costume — which producers attempted to quell by announcing Wonder Woman would actually alternate three diff

Wonder Woman Costume Change

We all remember the first images we saw of Adrianne Palicki in the new Wonder Woman costume. Looks like enough fans cried and screamed that they did a redesign on her outfit. NBC took some of the criticisms to heart. I could care less, A sexy woman is a sexy woman in either outfit. To see pictures of the ageless Elizabeth Hurley on set, check them out HERE . The upcoming show stars Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince, Elizabeth Hurley as villain Veronica Cale, the beautiful, highly educated head of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country who is afflicted with serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy and Tracie Thoms will play the regular role of Etta, Diana Themyscira (Palicki)'s always cheerful personal assistant. David E. Kelley Talks Wonder Woman

The Peacock is also moving ahead with a Kelley-penned reboot of Wonder Woman , an idea that has the nerd herd up in arms. The upcoming show stars  Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman   — aka Diana Prince,  Elizabeth Hurley as  villain   Veronica Cale , the beautiful, highly educated head of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country who is afflicted with serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy and  Tracie Thoms  will play the regular role of   Etta , Diana Themyscira (Palicki)'s always cheerful personal assistant. Speaking of inviting scrutiny: Wonder Woman . Why did you decide to take this on? Well I first said no, for all the obvious reasons. It’s not really what I do; it’s not a genre that’s in my wheelhouse. But then I started thinking about, What if there were such a person in today’s world and what must it be like to be her? And I was imagining the sense of social isolation that she must feel, that she indeed would probably be a rather complicated beast. When I

Adrianne Palicki As Wonder Woman

A few days ago we brought you the first look at the new Wonder Woman logo and some set photos of    Elizabeth Hurley .   And today  EW has obtained an exclusive first look of Adrianne Palicki as Wonder Woman — aka Diana Prince — from NBC’s reboot of the classic 1970s series. See the entire picture after the Jump... What’s different from what we’ve seen before? Well, how about those shiny blue pants? And blue boots instead of red ones? Compared to Lynda Carter’s get-up, this body-hugging extravaganza de-emphasizes the patriotism and seems to play up the comic’s Greek mythology. And a special shout-out to those bracelets! Wonder Woman is being remade by Boston Legal writer David E. Kelley, who has incorporated the superhero’s signature lasso, cuffs, and plane in the pilot. NBC promises the project, if picked up to series, will offer a serious, non-campy take on the DC Comics character. Along with Palicki, Elizabeth Hurley (Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me) and Cary Elwe

Elizabeth Hurley Tweeted today that she will be joining the cast of the upcoming NBC show Wonder Woman . Hurley is set to guest star in the pilot as villain Veronica Cale , the beautiful, highly educated head of one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the country who is afflicted with serious deep-seated Wonder Woman envy. Thrilled to be doing the NBC pilot Wonder Woman. I'll be playing the evil villain. Can't wait. But she wasn't the only one cast in the show today. Deadline is reporting that Cold Case alumna Tracie Thoms will play the regular role of Etta , Diana Themyscira (Palicki)'s always cheerful personal assistant. The show is starting to round out with Adrianne Palicki cast as the new Wonder Woman last month. What do you guys think? Will the show last more then a season? Please Leave A Comment-

Adrianne Palicki Is Wonder Woman

Former Friday Night Lights star Adrianne Palicki has been cast as the new Wonder Woman. The actress, 27, will play the title character in Wonder Woman, David E. Kelley's pilot for NBC. The project, from David E. Kelley Prods. and Warner Bros. TV, is a retelling of the DC Comics title in which Wonder Woman (Palicki), a.k.a. Diana Prince , tries to balance her life as a vigilante crime fighter, a successful corporate executive and a modern woman. Palicki, who appeared as Tyra Collete in the NBC/DirecTV series Friday Night Lights, stars in the upcoming Red Dawn . Her most recent series regular role was Fox's short-lived Texas-set drama Lone Star , which aired only two episodes last fall. She also starred in the movie Legion . Kelley, who penned the pilot, and Bill D'Elia (Boston Legal, The Practice) are executive producing. Jeffrey Reiner (The Event) is set to direct. Kelley, also behind freshman legal drama Harry's Law, had brought the project to the network

NBC's Wonder Woman Pilot Explained

Pilot season is officially underway and once again it's the franchise updates, spin-offs and genre projects which have drawn the most attention. Case in point: David E. Kelley's " Wonder Woman " pilot for NBC. We've managed to read Kelley's 72-page script and thought we'd offer up a quick FAQ, including some new exclusive details. As always, there's a lot that could change from this draft of the script and what ultimately airs should it make it to series. Also, this isn't meant as a plot synopsis, just a rundown of various elements at work here. 1. What's the main thrust of the show? Meet Diana Themyscira. By night, Diana fights crime as Wonder Woman, a Los Angeles-based superhero. By day, Diana runs Themyscira Industries, which among other things, sells Wonder Woman-related merchandise to fund her crime-fighting efforts. And since the public knows Diana Themyscira is Wonder Woman, she's recently invented a secret identity, Diana Prince

Lake Bell Wants To Play Wonder Woman In The Upcoming TV

With the news last week that NBC has picked up the Wonder Woman pilot from David E. Kelley. Now there is already news that a few Hollywood starlets are putting their name out there for the lead role as the Amazon Princess " Wonder Woman ." Lake Bell ( No Strings Attached ) talked to E! at the Sundance Film Festival, where she premiered her writing and directorial debut, a short called Worst Enemy. I got the guns! With superheroes you have to have this tickle of humor in there and you have to be a really great actor and also kick ass. Read more after the Jump.. "On my lists of things to do in my life—I mean, I campaign for it—is, I just want to play a superhero at some point," No Strings Attached actress Lake Bell told me at the Sundance Film Festival, where she premiered her writing and directorial debut, a short called Worst Enemy. "I got the guns! With superheroes you have to have this tickle of humor in there and you have to be a really great actor

Wonder Woman Show Coming To NBC

With all this superhero talk this week why not get more news. The ol’ girl may fly this fall after all: NBC has picked up the Wonder Woman pilot from David E. Kelley . Ironically, NBC was the final network to pass on bringing back the superhero over a week ago, but that was before the new regime was officially in place in light of the impending Comcast takeover. Robert Greenblatt is now spearheading primetime as chairman. (On Thursday, head of programming Angela Bromstad announced she was leaving). And now let the casting rumors begin. The pilot’s cost may not be a concern to Greenblatt, the wunderkind who revitalized Showtime with critical faves like Dexter and Weeds. One factor that seemed to have sunk the Wonder Woman project the first time around was the price of rebooting the series, with the studio requiring a rich license fee to bring the iconic character back to life. But then, NBC has been down this road before: It rebooted Bionic Woman(Fail) . Kelley’s take incorporated

Wonder Woman Returning To TV

Wonder Woman Returning To TV This has to be the highest-profile effort to bring Wonder Woman to television: One of TV's best-known creators, The Practice's David E. Kelley , has come on board to write and produce a new series project about the female superhero. The project, from Warner Bros Television where Kelley is based, and Warner Bros' DC Entertainment, will be taken out to the networks shortly. Kelley, who has created several female centered shows like Ally McBeal , has wanted to tackle a contemporary take on the World War II-era Amazon. He recently met with the DC team who also have been looking for ways to launch a new Wonder Woman TV franchise. The comic book Wonder Woman character has evolved significantly since she first appeared in a 1941 issue of All Star Comics and recently underwent a controversial makeover. Details on Kelley's TV series are being kept under wraps, and it is not clear if the new Wonder Woman aka Diana Prince will be the old familiar
