BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Daredevil Series Is Cancelled

Most of his Defenders comrades have already fallen, but we were thinking that the Devil Of Hell's Kitchen might just hang on. Yet the axe came from Netflix today, as Daredevil has been cancelled after a three-season run. "Marvel’s Daredevil will not return for a fourth season on Netflix," the company said in a statement to Deadline. "We are tremendously proud of the show’s last and final season and although it’s painful for the fans, we feel it best to close this chapter on a high note. We’re thankful to our partners at Marvel, showrunner Erik Oleson, the show’s writers, stellar crew and incredible cast including Charlie Cox as Daredevil himself, and we’re grateful to the fans who have supported the show over the years." But if the news makes you sad, take heart, as the statement included this interesting nugget: "While the series on Netflix has ended, the three existing seasons will remain on the service for years to come, while the Daredevil chara

Netflix Cancels "Iron Fist"

By: Christopher Linkous In the years since Daredevil debuted on Netflix, the streaming service has been growing and building its roster of street-level New York heroes – adding J essica Jones, Luke Cage, The Punisher , and the immortal Iron Fist , aka Danny Rand. But that expansion isn't continuing unabated, with news that Iron Fist won't be back for another set of episodes. In a statement released to Deadline, a joint statement from Netflix and Marvel confirmed that Iron Fist won’t get a Season 3, despite a warmer reception to the recently-released second season. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and show runners,” the statement reads. “We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.” Finn Jones made his debut as Danny Rand in the

The Kingpin Will Return In Daredevil Season 3

Aside from a memorable cameo in one episode, Vincent D'Onofrio 's cultured crime boss Wilson Fisk, AKA the Kingpin, was largely absent from the last season of Daredevil . It appears he'll be back in force for Season 3. Quite what Fisk will be up to this time has yet to be revealed, and the extent of his appearance will also be a closely guarded secret. But he was such a highlight of the first season that we'll be glad to see him closing car doors on people again, and perhaps appreciating art. In addition to the casting news from Deadline, there is word that the show will have yet another boss behind the scenes, as The Man In The High Castle veteran Erik Oleson will be taking over the showrunner duties for this next season. "Vincent is an exceptional actor who returns with the incredible gravitas he brings to Fisk,” says Marvel TV chief Jeph Loeb, adding, "we're very excited how Marvel’s Daredevil develops through the creative lens and guidance of our

Television Review: #Daredevil Season 2

Netflix scores high marks for their sophomore superhero series. Review by Matt Cummings Ask anyone these days if we're suffering from too much superhero stuff (television, movies, t-shirts, images on soup), and you're likely to get a wide variety of answers. The truth is, Hollywood is still trying to figure this thing out itself, falling loudly in some cases (see Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ). Even Netlfix has failed (see the boring Jessica Jones ). But if there's one thing being done right, it's Daredevil, as season 2's entry has proven with its terrific storytelling, stellar performances, and visceral action. Set a few months after the events of last season, Lawyer Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) and his partner Foggy Nelson (Elden Henson) have been growing their law firm with an eclectic mix of clients. But that's all about to change when a shadowy figure begins to murder rival gangs, leaving destruction in his wake. Determined to protect Hel

TV Review: #DaredevilSeason2 Badass To The Bone!

Badass to the bone! RAMA is back with another review. Please keep in mind that the following review of Daredevil season 2 is based solely on my having watched the first few episodes, I haven’t seen this new season in its entirety, yet but I’m stoked enough to at least start sharing you my thoughts about it. Just like you, I too was a huge fan of season 1, and my goodness if you think Vincent D’Onofrio’s villainous character, Wilson Fisk, was brutal and merciless, wait till you get a load of everyone’s favorite anti-hero, Frank Castle/Punisher, played by “The Walking Dead” alum, Jon Bernthal In season 1, Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox) was having a rough start, getting used to this whole vigilante, it was a trial-and-error work-in-progress learning along the way type of work. And now, in season 2, just when Matt thinks he’s getting used to bringing order back to the city, fact of the matter is Wilson Fisk’s absence creates vacuum, every gang in town is fighting to fill the void. But

2015 TV Winners and Losers

A look back at the highs and lows of 2015 television. By Brandon Wolfe Winners 1. Fargo (FX) Last year’s biggest surprise has evolved into television’s most consistently excellent and creatively energized series. In its second year, Fargo unleashed a boldly complex, tightly interwoven narrative concerning a brutal gang war in 1979, the hapless couple (Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst) who unwittingly ignite the fuse between the warring factions and the decent cop (Patrick Wilson) trying to keep order amidst the chaos and bloodshed. With a knockout cast, superb humor, delightful characters, defiant weirdness (those UFOs!) and more Coen Brothers references than you can shake a snow shovel at, Fargo is the best thing on the air right now, you betcha. 2. Justified (FX) After a penultimate season that seemed muddled and confused, FX’s contemporary Western came roaring back with its guns a-blazing, brimming with renewed purpose. The ballad of Raylan Givens (Timothy Olyphant) and

TV Review: Marvel's Jessica Jones

Marvel finally does TV right. Review by Brandon Wolfe Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) doesn’t much resemble a superhero, certainly not of the variety we’re accustomed to within the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which she inhabits. She doesn’t have any cool weapons. Rather than a flashy, colorful costume, her day-to-day attire consists of a black leather jacket and a pair of faded jeans. She doesn’t even have a snazzy moniker, going solely by her rather prosaic (if alliterative) name. She’s not a scientist, a billionaire, a war hero, a secret agent nor a god, but a lowly P.I., snapping candids of cheating spouses and living out of a hovel of an office. She’s a hard-drinking, hard-screwing, hard-bitten cynic, about as far from Steve Rogers as any person could get. Yet she’s also “gifted,” as are so many in the Marvel Universe. Jessica possesses superhuman strength and resilience. She can’t fly, exactly, but she can jump very high, which is the next best thing. But Jessica does not think

Marvel/Netflix's #JessicaJones Official Trailer

After a tragic ending to her short-lived Super Hero stint, Jessica Jones is rebuilding her personal life and career as a detective who gets pulled into cases in New York City. It's time the world knew her name. Ritter stars as Jessica, a woman with super-strength and advanced healing powers who was once a superhero. After a traumatic experience, however, she gave that up and is now making a living as a private eye. Her cases often bring her into contact with those similarly boasting special abilities as well as the usual: cheating spouses, small crimes and missing relatives. Watch the trailer after the Jump... Overseen by Melissa Rosenberg and based on Brian Michael Bendis’ Alias comic book series, the show will also feature Rachael Taylor as Jessica’s closest friend Patricia “Trish” Walker, Mike Colter as friend and sometime love interest Luke “Power Man” Cage (who will be starring in his own series, now shooting), Carrie-Ann Moss as the enigmatic Harper and David Tenn

Daredevil Season 2 Trailer. First Look Of The Punisher & Elektra

Daredevil’s second season brings back Charlie Cox’s blind lawyer-turned-vigilante superhero Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as legal secretary Karen Page, Elden Henson as law partner Foggy Nelson, Rosario Dawson as Claire Temple and Vincent D’Onofrio as crime kingpin Wilson Fisk. We also know that Scott Glenn will be back as Matt’s grumpy mentor Stick. New this year will be Elodie Yung as Elektra Natchios, a woman from Matt’s past who will re-enter his life (as is fitting for one of his main love interests in the comics) and Jon Bernthal, who will be tooling up as Frank Castle, AKA The Punisher. Season 2 doesn’t have a confirmed date yet, but if it follows the release pattern of last year, it should be with us in April next year. Watch the trailer after the Jump... For all the current focus on the second Marvel/Netflix series to come down the pipe – Jessica Jones – there’s still more Daredevil to think about. The Man Without Fear will be back on our screens next year and Marvel is reminding the world with a new poster. The image, which uses concept art from the show and harkens back to the comic book itself, was put online by Chief Creative Officer Joe Quesada and will be handed out to attendees at the New York Comic-Com, which kicks off tomorrow and runs through the weekend.
