Batman & Bane Fighting Outside Court House. More Set Photos From TDKR

Hammer found some awesome images online today. The Dark Knight Rises  filmed in Pittsburgh over the weekend, and if you liked the first two Christopher Nolan Batman movies but thought they needed more fighting on courthouse steps, good news, because that shit totally happens in the third one. Specifically Batman fighting Bane on some steps. Slso looks like the first picture of Joseph Gordon Levitt , who plays a beat cop named John Blake. Spoiler Alert After the Pictures Actually, after that Marion Cotillard arrived and ruined all kinds of shit that I probably didn’t want to know about, so, seriously,  THERE MAY BE HEAVY SPOILERS HERE . Don’t keep reading if you don’t want to know. Okay so Cotillard was also there, and according to the official Warner Bros. press release, she plays a “Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne”. And yet here we see her being escorted by the guys who were just fighting the cops, the guys who appear to

The Dark Knight Rises Footage Appears Online

When it comes to Christopher Nolan films, everything's done under the radar. He's the Ethan Hunt of directors, so whenever there's a leaked photo or video we're like moths to a flame. Some amateur footage has surfaced from The Dark Knight Rises that features Anne Hathaway and Christian Bale , who look mighty comfortable together. The scene takes place on a rainy day, which it really isn't judging from the T-shirt wearing crew members on the street. From the looks of it, Selina Kyle and Bruce Wayne are on a joint mission. Bruce knocks on the door of a house but gets no answer, so Selina walks up and whisks him away. We might be over-romanticizing the scene just a tad, but Selina does grab his hand. We're not sure who's supposed to be behind that door or why Bruce wants to talk to them, because we're more interested in the dynamic between him and Selina. Watch the footage after the Jump... Christopher Meloni Joins Man OF Steel

Christopher Meloni , who a month ago surprised everyone by exiting his longtime home as co-star of NBC's Law & Order: SVU , is in line for a big-time follow-up. I hear he is in negotiations for a major role in Man Of Steel , the Superman franchise reboot from Warner Bros that Zack Snyder is directing. No word yet on what part he might get, though. He would join such big-name players as Russell Crowe, Julia Ormond, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane in the film, which stars Henry Cavill as Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane. Russell Crowe In Talks To Play Jor-El In Man of Steel

Russell Crowe is negotiations to play the Kryptonian father of Superman in Man of Steel , the Zack Snyder-directed relaunch of Warners and Legendary’s Superman franchise. The casting of heavyweight Crowe in the role has a ring of synchronicity to it as it harkens back to the casting of heavyweight Marlon Brando in Warner's 1978 Superman movie. Brando was famously paid $3.7 million dollars in the mid-1970s for the part that amounted to 15 minutes of screen timea and two weeks' worth of work. Details of how large the role (a scientist who forsees the destruction of his planet and squires his infant son into an escape rocket bound for Earth) is in Man of Steel are not being revealed. Steel already has Kevin Costner playing Jonathan Kent, the human father of Superman, who is being played by Henry Cavill. Christopher Nolan is producing the movie, which is heading for a late summer or fall start in Vancouver. Sean Penn and Clive Owen were reportedly considered for the ro

Overall, this is a brilliant campaign: Baffle your diehard fans enough that they’ll devote time and energy to cracking the code, setting off a viral avalanche of interest as people share their discovery across social networks. SuperHeroHype Forums member ‘Riskproduction’ figured out that the chanting in the audio says “ #thefirerises ”, I guess that’s where we’ll tweet when there’s a TDKR topic ..and there is now a Twitter.com/TheFireRises account! Joseph Gordon-Levitt & Marion Cotillard Confirmed For The Dark Knight Rises

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard roles in the upcoming The Dark Knight Rises have been revelad and confirmed by a press release from Warner Bros. Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be playing “John Blake, a Gotham City beat cop assigned to special duty under the command of Commissioner Gordon” and  Marion Cotillard “Miranda Tate, a Wayne Enterprises board member eager to help a still-grieving Bruce Wayne resume his father’s philanthropic endeavors for Gotham.” Read the entire release after the Jump... Ra's Al Ghul Has Been Cast For The Dark Knight Rises

Josh Pence , who played opposite Armie Hammer as Tyler Winklevoss in The Social Network ( where Hammer's face was superimposed on his ), has been cast as a young Ra's Al Ghul in Dark Knight Rises, Christopher Nolan's new Batman movie. The movie's casting has been ultra-secret, although Christian Bale, Gary Oldman and Morgan Freeman are returning to lead a caped crusading cast, which includes Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard . The story line has also been kept locked up in the Batcave but Pence's casting throws more than a few crumbs to follow. Ra's Al Ghul was played by Liam Neeson in Batman Begins, thus paving the way for a possible return of the supposedly dead character. Also, while the studio never confirmed Cotillard's character, it has been rumored to be that of Thalia Al Ghul, the daughter of Batman's mentor-turned-enemy. Sources say Pence will appear in scenes that take place 30 years prior to the pres

Zack Snyder Talks About Chris Nolan & Superman: Man Of Steel

Faster than a speeding bullet or merely Batcycle-quick? That was the question we put to Superman: Man Of Steel 's director Zack Snyder when Empire collared him at Sucker Punch's recent London junket . Credit to him, he resisted the urge to kick-off a superhero turf war, giving a diplomatic answer that involved kryptonite arrows and a slightly baffled look. The diplomacy was unsurprising considering the Dark Knight's current custodian, Christopher Nolan , is working closely with Snyder and writer David Goyer to bring Supes back to the big screen. "Chris has been amazingly generous with me," Snyder told us of his producer's contributions to Superman: Man Of Steel's storyline. "He's making [The Dark Knight Rises] but he takes time if we're knocking around ideas for the script. We'll all sit around in a room, beat it around and try to figure it out..." So there you have it: Nolan has officially developed an Inception-like power ove

The Dark Knight Rises Will Shoot In Pittsburgh

The Dark Knight Rises , the third installment in Christopher Nolan's Batman franchise starring Christian Bale , is shooting in Pittsburgh. "Pittsburgh is a beautiful city," Nolan says in a statement. "We have been able to find everything we were looking for here, and I am excited to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with our final installment of Batman." Nolan has already met with representatives of Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, who tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette: “We are thrilled to be welcoming the Batman film to Pittsburgh, and eager for the economic impact that our city will experience. This is another example of the growing film industry in our community, and we will be rolling out the red carpet for them." The Warner Bros. production could shoot in Pittsburgh for four to six weeks, shooting mostly downtown. The movie also stars Anne Hathaway as Catwoman and Tom Hardy as Bane. It is slated a July 20, 2012, release. Please Leave A Comment- Sour

Amy Adams Cast As Lois Lane In Upcoming Superman Reboot

Amy Adams  (The Fighter)  has landed the iconic role of journalist Lois Lane in the upcoming Superman reboot from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures. Adams joins    Henry Cavill , Diane Lane and Kevin Costner on the production, which will be directed by Zack Snyder. “Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about," Snyder said in a statement Sunday. "So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, ambitious and, of course, beautiful." Adams will join Phyllis Coates, Margot Kidder and Kate Bosworth as actresses who have played the iconic Lane. Superman: Man of Steel is currently set for a December 2012 release. Zack Snyder's Man of Steel To Hold It's Own

When Bryan Singer took moviegoers to Metropolis in the 2006 film ” Superman Returns ,” he paid careful homage to the hero’s cinematic past. Don’t expect that approach from Zack Snyder , who on Wednesday shared his guiding principle: ”Respect the canon but don’t be a slave to the movies.” Snyder’s version of the Man of Steel is scheduled to reach theaters in December 2012 with Henry Cavill in the title role, and the director said that this will be the first modern Superman feature that will truly break from Richard Donner’s landmark 1978 film, which shared its star, Christopher Reeve , with three sequels and then also deeply informed Singer’s 2006 film, which put Brandon Routh in the iconic blue tights but tapped into both style and story elements from the work of Donner and Reeve. “Literally, the one thing that everyone can start to think about is that we’re making a movie that finally goes with the approach that there’s been no other Superman movies,” Snyder said. “If you look

Warner Bros.Offers Movies On Facebook

Warner Bros. is turning to Facebook , where it hopes to find an electronic audience interested in digitally renting The Dark Knight . Warners said Monday that it is the first Hollywood studio to offer movies directly on Facebook. Friends of Christopher Nolan's Knight, the second of his two Batman movies, can rent the film by going to its official Facebook page and clicking a "rent" icon to apply Facebook Credits. The cost per rental is 30 Facebook Credits, or $3. Viewers will have 48 hours from the purchase to watch the movie, which can be viewed full screen and also paused and resumed within that period. While watching the movie, consumers will also have full Facebook functionality, including the ability to post comments, interact with friends and update their status. "Facebook has become a daily destination for hundreds of millions of people," said Thomas Gewecke, president of Warner Bros. Digital Distribution. "Making our films available through

Will Ra's Al Ghul Return For The Dark Knight Rises?

Our guest writer Jonathan Cyfer starts this Monday off with an interesting article. Will Ra's Al Ghul Return? "In the comic books, Ra’s Al Ghul goes into a life bath of some sort and immerses himself to become immortal. So that’s probably where that [rumor] comes from. But no-one’s approached me with an offer. I’d like to if it happens.” Actor Liam Neelson is quoted at The Daily Blam , commenting on Christopher Nolan's upcoming film The Dark Knight Rises (2012). Will Neelson appear in the movie? Anything can happen, but it's less than a rumor at this point and we did see Ra’s Al Ghul die in Batman Begins (2005). Neelson's character gave us a possible hint in Batman Begins as quoted from IMDb : Bruce Wayne: You're not Ra's al Ghul. I watched him die. Henri Ducard: [from behind Bruce Wayne] But is Ra's al Ghul immortal? [Bruce turns around to face Ducard] Henri Ducard: Are his methods supernatural? In the Batman animated series , Ra'

Diane Lane Cast As Martha Kent In Superman Reboot

Diane Lane is an actress who has seemed perpetually 37 for about 20 years. There's a weary, sexy worldly wisdom to her that has allowed her to appeal to both men and women, either in erotic "thrillers" like "Unfaithful" or big crowd-pleasers like "Secretariat." Thirty-seven is a good age for an actress to seem; old enough to be respected, but young enough to still be attractive to all age groups. Yet the 46-year-old, onetime Oscar-nominee Lane will play Martha Kent , Superman's "mom," in the upcoming Superman reboot. She has played moms before, of course, but not mothers that have typically been portrayed as matronly rocking-chair dwellers. To be fair, with Annette O'Toole on "Smallville," Superman's adoptive parents have gotten younger in recent years; it's still rumored that Kevin Costner will play Pa Kent, after all. (Actually, that's totally not fair: Costner is 56, almost a decade older than Lane.) Lan

The Dark Knight Rises, Who Is The Villain?

Let's start with the news about whom Batman will be facing as a villain in The Dark Knight Rises  is a Rumor nothing has been confirmed. Rumor . Truth as she herself confirmed, Anne Hathaway will be playing Selina Kyle/Catwoman in the movie. I can’t tell you what role she has in the beginning, but by the end of the story Catwoman isn’t a villain but rather an ally of Batman. And who are they teaming up to take out? Now onto the Rumors: badassdigest talked to a good source near the Batcamp and have come away with information about The Dark Knight Rises that confirms lots of speculation from recent months. This is, technically, all spoilers. I feel pretty confident that this info is good, but know that Christopher Nolan has gotten very, very skilled at manipulating us nerds and isn’t above throwing out some misinformation from time to time. Here goes nothing: The League of Shadows . Headed by Talia Al’Ghul . With Bane ( Tom Hardy ), who is her muscle/possible love

Viggo Mortensen To Play General Zod In Superman Reboot?

Now that British hunk Henry Cavill is set to play the Man of Steel , the search is on the fill out the rest of the cast of Warner Bros.' big-budget Superman reboot. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that producer Christopher Nolan and director Zack Snyder are zeroing in on an intriguing actor to play the villain: Viggo Mortensen . Mortensen , who is still in negotiations for Universal’s Snow White and the Huntsman , is said to be at the top of the list to play General Zod , the evil and super-powered scientist who was portrayed by Terrence Stamp in 1980's Superman II. If Mortensen's Snow White deal doesn't close, that would potentially free him up to make Superman. Or Universal and Warner Bros. could work out his schedule and enable him to do both. Sources say no talks have commenced and that Mortensen is just a "person of interest," much like Kevin Costner is for the role of Jonathan Kent. The actors aren't the only ones considered for their res

Kevin Costner To Play Jonathan Kent In Superman Reboot

Deadline is reporting that there is heightened interest in Kevin Costner for a key role in the Superman reboot that is being directed by Zack Snyder for Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures. Henry Cavill was recently set in the Man of Steel role. I'm not exactly sure what role Costner is likely to play, but he has certainly been in good guy mode lately. Latinoreview is reporting that Costner will be playing Jonathan  Kent , Superman's Daddy. Beyond his performance in the John Wells-directed The Company Men , Costner surfaced as an unlikely hero in aiding the cleanup in the Gulf of Mexico oil spill. British Petroleum purchased over 30 centrifuge machines which separate oil from water, technology that was developed with a reported $24 million in funding by the actor over 15 years. The Superman film is being produced by Chris Nolan, Charles Roven, Emma Thomas, and Deborah Snyder. The screenplay is being written by David S. Goyer based on a story by Goyer and Nolan. Thoma

Superman Will Be Ballsy In The Upcoming Movie

Sure Zack Snyder can bring epic comic book tales to the screen – he proved that with Watchmen and 300 – but given the level of sex and violence in the director’s output, he may not seem like the perfect choice for a character as old-fashioned and wholesome as Superman. Snyder tells SFX, the real reason he’s agreed to direct the next Superman movie – currently titled Superman: The Man of Steel – is the film’s take on the character, as conceived by the Batman creative team of David Goyer and Christopher Nolan. “My feeling about Superman is that I’ve been a fan of the character for a long time. But the question for me was always, ‘What can you do with Superman in a modern world?’ And I think the amazing thing that Chris and David have created, that I’m working on now, and the reason why I was like, ‘Yeah, I’ll do that,’ was that they found that in him. They found the why in him. That’s the exciting part for me.” And just how will Snyder’s Superman differ from previous incarnations o
