John Wick TV Series In The Works "The Continental" Expect To See Keanu Reeves

Talked about by team John Wick for a couple of years now, the TV spin-off from the Keanu Reeves -starring action franchise is officially moving forward in the States. US cable channel Starz, which is aligned with film producers Lionsgate, is working up The Continental , a series set in the Wick universe. As you might expect from that title, the show's focus will be the wider world assassins and the inner workings of the Continental Hotel chain that serves as a refuge for them. Wick originators Chad Stahelski and David Leitch are involved as producers alongside franchise writer Derek Kolstad. Chris Collins is in charge of writing the first episode and will run the show, with Stahelski stepping in to direct that initial outing. Expect the usual frenetic fights and bullet exchanges.\ While Reeves won't be the lead in the series, he'll be popping up if the team have their way. "I think you can expect to see him at some point on the series," Starz’s head of prog...

Movie Review: #JohnWickChapter2

The further adventures of John Wick bring more guns, punches, and an actual story in a memorable follow-up to the original. Review by Matt Cummings If anyone would have told you that 2015 would feature Keanu Reeves in a career-defining movie, as well as one of the best films of that year, you would have thought me crazy. But that's just what happened with John Wick , a gift to action film that brought about the word "Gun-Fu". Audiences were blown away by that film's brazen violence, incredible hand-to-hand combat, and the absolute gut punch of its titular character experiencing incredible loss. But when the credits rolled and we got off that amazing rollercoaster, the next question that inevitably arose was "What's next?" Luckily, that answer brings with it an expansion of this universe that makes John Wick: Chapter 2 so appealing. Assassin John Wick (Reeves) has a hard time retiring, whether it's in the pursuit of his stolen Mustang...

John Wick Director Chad Stahelski Will Direct Highlander Reboot

THR is reporting there can be only one and, in this case, it's Chad Stahelski . Stahelski, who, along with David Leitch, was the filmmaker behind John Wick , has signed on to direct the long-gestating reboot of Highlander for Lionsgate. "I've been a huge fan of the original property since I saw it in high school," Stahelski told The Hollywood Reporter. "Such great themes of immortality, love, and identity are all wrapped up in such colorful mythology. I can't think of a better property that gives the opportunity to create interesting characters, mythic themes and action set pieces." Neal H. Moritz and Peter Davis are producing the project, which could also see Stahelski and Leitch join the team via their 87Eleven production and action stunt company, though that is still to be determined. The original Highlander starred Christopher Lambert, Sean Connery and Clancy Brown as immortal beings, hunting down one another and collecting more power. La...

#JOHNWICK Directors May Get Their Hands On Chris Pratt For "Cowboy Ninja Viking"

Variety is reporting that the team behind one of our favorite films of the year maybe directing Chris Pratt in “ Cowboy Ninja Viking .” Pratt has met with Leitch and Stahelski and has given his stamp of approval. Based on writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo’s graphic novel, the story follows a man who suffers from multiple personality disorder and is put into a government program to be turned into a super-soldier with the attributes of a cowboy, a ninja and a viking. Stahelski and Leitch have been cutting their teeth as second unit directors for several years but blew up after “ John Wick ” overperformed at the box office this past October. Leitch was uncredited on the project. With Pratt in such high demand, the studio quickly fast-tracked the project in order to squeeze it in before the actor’s plate became too full. It’s unclear where this film would fit in his schedule with Pratt already set to star in “Magnificent Seven,” which shoots in the spring, and the “...
