As these newly created alpha predators tear across North America, destroying everything in their path, Okoye teams with a discredited genetic engineer to secure an antidote, fighting his way through an ever-changing battlefield, not only to halt a global catastrophe but to save the fearsome creature that was once his friend. “Rampage” also stars Oscar nominee Naomie Harris (“Moonlight”), Malin Akerman (TV’s “Billions”), Jake Lacy (TV’s “Girls”), Joe Manganiello (TV’s “True Blood”) a

San Andreas Sequel Might Be On It's Way

THR is reporting New Line and Dwayne Johnson want to make the earth move for you one more time. The company has hired Neil Widener and Gavin James to write a sequel to San Andreas , the Johnson-starring earthquake disaster movie that grossed over $473 million worldwide last year. A good chunk of the team is due to return for the second installment. Johnson is swinging back to the sequel as is producer Beau Flynn, producing via his Flynn Picture Co. banner. Brad Peyton, who directed the movie, is also returning. The 2015 movie saw Johnson as a search-and-rescue helicopter pilot who teams up with his estranged wife (Carla Gugino) to save their daughter (Alexandra Daddario) when a series of quakes crush Los Angeles and San Francisco. Gugino, Daddario and Paul Giamatti, who played a seismologist, are also expected to return. (Andre Fabrizio and Jeremy Passmore as well as Carlton Cuse wrote the original's script.) Plot details for the new installment are being sheltered

Movie Review: 'San Andreas'

San Andreas is big, loud, summer disaster fun, but is that enough to see it? Review by Matt Cummings Disaster films are always best viewed with the most minimum of expectations: make it big, make it loud, and hope all of the tearful goodbyes aren't too wincing. And although the human drama and the science behind Director Brad Peyton's San Andreas isn't great, the action is superb and performances good enough to warrant you take a chance. The LA Fire and Rescue helicopter pilot Ray (Dwayne Johnson) is a hulking figure whose professional accomplishments in Afghanistan and LA are overshadowed by the constant reminder of loss. One of his daughters perished in a rafting accident, which led to a painful divorce that his soon-to-be ex-wife (Carla Gugino) was forced to accept. Since then, Emma has moved in with a well-to-do architect (Ian Gufford), while Ray saves a young woman after an avalanche near LA. This seemingly small event peaks the interest of a Cal Tech

Brad Peyton is on board to direct the film, in which Josh Hutcherson will reprise his role as burgeoning explorer Sean Anderson. Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson of Contrafilm are producing. Brendan Fraser was the top draw in the 2008 movie but is not returning after hitting an impasse over start dates. That put New Line on track to find a new star, with the studio and Johnson dancing for several weeks before getting into it. Johnson is in negotiations, with a deal expected to close this week. Johnson will play the boyfriend of Hutcherson's mom, who Hutcherson is forced to bring on a trip to a mythical and monstrous island to find his missing grandfather.
