BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Thor: Ragnarok Rules The Box Office

Following the usual Marvel plan of opening in select international markets (including the UK), Thor: Ragnarok rumbled into Stateside cinemas and made a big impact. The new movie earned $121 million, according to studio estimates. Adding to its previous haul from elsewhere, the latest Thor entry is up to $427 million, which is a healthy start for the movie. It was more than enough to see off its nearest competitor, A Bad Moms Christmas , which looked to offer a little counter-programming to the latest superhero outing. At $17 million, it's not on the level of the original, which launched with $23.8 million last year, but it's not too bad considering the film's roughly $28 million production price tag. Jigsaw was pushed down to third place, adding $6.7 million, while Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween also fell, landing in fourth with $4.6 million. Geostorm rounded out the top five, making $3 million. At sixth, we find Happy Death Day , which earned $2.8 mil

Jigsaw Lands In The Top Spot

Its opponents might have had star power or heartstring-plucking stories of veterans, but with Halloween on the way, Jigsaw beat the rest at the Stateside box office game. The latest – if belated – sequel for the Saw series earned $16.2 million, according to studio estimates. The horror, which sees the legacy of Jigsaw come back to haunt some new victims, was made for a budget of $10 million (not counting marketing etc.), but despite the seven-year gap between the last movie and this one, it appears the appetite for the torturous games of the killer is still eager. Last week's champion, Tyler Perry's Boo 2! A Madea Halloween slipped to second on $10 million. And Geostorm was shoved to third, making $5.6 million. In fourth place, fellow horror (this one with more intentional comedy) Happy Death Day took in $5 million, ahead of Blade Runner 2049 on $3.9 million, rounding out the top five. Movie Review: #BladeRunner2049

Blade Runner 2049 is both a surreal visual spectacle and a powerful experiential journey. Review by Matt Cummings Science Fiction and Sci-Fi have existed as twins, constantly misidentified and suffering from people's perceptions of the other. On the one side, you have Sci-Fi, which merely entertains and is always content with its role as party guest: think Starship Troopers or Aliens . Then there's Science-Fiction, constantly finding itself reading a book while their cooler brother parties on. The greatest of these set humanity in space, the future, and many times both. Think 1997's Gattaca , 1969's 2001: A Space Odyssey , and of course 1982's Blade Runner . Blade Runner 2049 not only immediately enters the former, but perhaps stands atop; it's a cinematic experience which demands your attention, as trippy as it is beautiful, set in a time which feels more relevant than ever, and with plenty on its mind. LAPD officer K (Ryan Gosling) is a su

Edward James Olmos Will return In Blade Runner 2049

When Blade Runner 2049 hits later this year, Harrison Ford 's Deckard won't be the only character returning from the 1982 original. Edward James Olmos has revealed that he will be back as veteran Blade Runner Gaff . "I couldn’t talk about it. I couldn’t talk about it to anybody about it," he said to hosts Bel Hernandez and Naibe Reynoso of Thetrend Talk show . "Guess what? This is the first time that I’m telling the whole world, that yes, I am going to be Gaff in Blade Runner 2049." Don't expect the film to be all-Gaff, all the time, though. There will still be time for people such as Ford and new main character Officer K, played by Ryan Gosling. "Well, it’s not about Gaff, but it’s about someone who is going to try to find out certain things about us back then," says Olmos. "My role is like it was in the original – that time I only had four scenes, in this I only have one. But again, it’s a poignant little scene." We'll

Blade Runner's Sequel Is Titled Blade Runner 2049 & First BTS Image

We're now a year away from the much-anticipated (and much-puzzled over) sequel to Ridley Scott's 1982 classic Blade Runner . Many of the details are still under wraps, but at least it's no longer untitled: the film is called Blade Runner 2049 . Which makes sense, since the movie is apparently set several (the title makes it three, since the original takes place in 2019) decades after Scott's film. Harrison Ford is back as Rick Deckard, and the world he inhabits has just gotten worse, with environmental catastrophe plaguing humanity. Ryan Gosling, Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Ana de Armas, Carla Juri, Barkhad Abdi and Dave Bautista are also among the cast, with Sicario and Arrival's Denis Villeneuve calling the shots.
