Netflix Nabs Beverly Hills Cop Sequel

The streamer nabbed the sequel rights from Viacom's Paramount Pictures via a one-time licensing deal, with Bruckheimer set to produce. Netflix has picked up the rights to make a sequel to Beverly Hills Cop , with Eddie Murphy set to star and Jerry Bruckheimer set to produce, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. The project comes after a one-time licensing deal between Netflix and Paramount to produce the latest reboot of the Beverly Hills Cop franchise. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are on board to direct the long awaited fourth installment of the series. As competitors like Disney and Warner Bros. withhold their movies from Netflix to feed their own streaming services, Paramount has become a ready supplier, or "arms dealer" of sorts, of content and licensing rights for the streaming giant. Paramount previously took a planned Beverly Hills Cop 4 sequel off the beat. The studio pulled the planned reboot of the popular cop comedy from its scheduled March 25, 2

Beverly Hills Cop 4 One Step Closer To Happening

According to Deadline Paramount has set Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah to direct its long awaited fourth installment of the Beverly Hills Cop series. The Belgian writer-directors are best known for their edgy drama Black, which won the Discovery Award at the Toronto Film Festival last year. The studio, producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Eddie Murphy have been working diligently to get the script and elements right for a film that had been once been slated to be released this year. They loved Black, and when they met with the filmmakers, they were charmed to discover how important the original Beverly Hills Cop was to them. Even though this is a major step up from the budget of their last film, this became an opportunity to reframe a venerable franchise with youthful energy. They will direct a script by writers Josh Appelbaum & Andre Nemec that will bring Murphy’s street smart cop character Axel Foley back to his Detroit origins. It is gritty with the trademark irreverent hum

Beverly Hills Cop 4 Still Delayed

The script for Beverly Hills Cop 4 isn't ready because star of the franchise, Eddie Murphy himself told Rolling Stone the reason for the delay. “Nah, they still trying to get that script right, I’m not doing a ‘Beverly Hills Cop’ unless they have a really incredible script. I’ve read a couple things that look like they can make some paper. But I’m not doing a sh*tty movie just to make some paper. The sh*t got to be right. ” I am a huge fan of the franchise minus the third film, so let's hope they get it right. The plan for BEVERLY HILLS COP 4 is to have the production happen in Michigan and the movie arrive in theaters in 2016 Please Leave A Comment-

Beverly Hills Cop 4 Is On!

While we're on the subject of belated action comedy sequels, there's a new/old game afoot at Paramount . Recently cut loose from his erstwhile home at Disney, super-producer Jerry Bruckheimer has rocked up to a new deal at Paramount. First among his first-looks is the long-gestating fourth Beverly Hills Cop movie. Eddie Murphy has already signed on to return to his signature role as Axel Foley, and Brett Ratner - who's been on board since at least 2008 - is attached to direct. Last we heard, Beverly Hills Cop was being retooled as a TV series, under the aegis of The Shield's Shawn Ryan. Barry Sonnenfeld directed a pilot that starred Brandon T. Jackson as Foley's son, with Murphy cameoing to hand over the reins and Kevin Pollak as a Beverly Hills PD lawyer. CBS declined to pick it up for a series, however. Jackson claimed it was because the show was "too edgy" for them. So we're back once again to the plan for a fourth movie, which Deadline

Beverly Hills Cop 4 Huge Priority

Beverly Hills Cop 4 Huge Priority I for one would like to see this movie get fast tracked. On my top ten Favorite movies would have to be Beverly Hills Cop 2 . The third movie should be whipped out of all our memory. Horrible movie! Tired of Eddie Murphy making all these kids flick, I understand the pay checks are nice, But I would like to see him return to his old self with all the foul language and humor he once had. Director Brett Ratner discussed the risky business of integrating brands into movies Thursday at an Advertising Week event focused on "consumer attention in a media-saturated world." Using the example of his current "Beverly Hills Cop" project -- which Ratner said is "a huge priority for Paramount -- the director said that Eddie Murphy will need to drive a car in the film, and that he has to figure out which one. Rather than doing a deal with a car maker and trying to force its product into the story, Ratner said the process must work the oth
