Terrence Howard To Play Marvin Gaye In Upcoming Film Terrence Howard is in talks to star in a biopic about the late and great Marvin Gaye, the film has been in the works for the last three and half years according to director Cameron Crowe. The starring role was offered to Will Smith but he turned it down. The film is supported by Motown founder Berry Gordy Jr and they have secured all the rights to Marvin's music. Howard, of course, is a singer himself.
