The Problem With Jon Stewart Premiering September 30th On Apple TV+


Apple reveals a highly anticipated first look at the new current affairs series “The Problem With Jon Stewart,” debuting globally on Apple TV+, Thursday , September 30, along with the series’ official companion podcast.22 In this sneak peek, episode topics range from the struggle for comprehensive veteran care to better ways to support the American working class, as the series tackles ongoing national conversations that have domestic and global impact.

  

 Jon Stewart leads with compassion and humor as he takes a deep dive into some of the most enduring, deeply-entrenched issues of our time on the new Apple Original series, “The Problem With Jon Stewart.” From the acclaimed writer, producer, director and advocate, the series explores complex topics through the differing perspectives of stakeholders, experts and individuals confronting these challenges. The companion series podcast will expand upon the conversation from each episode, featuring staff members from across the show who will have conversations with activists in the space, share facts on the issue, and of course, bring plenty of jokes. 

 “The Problem With Jon Stewart” will debut globally on Apple TV+, Thursday, September 30, followed by new episodes every other week. The series’ official podcast will also premiere on Thursday, September 30 on Apple Podcasts at https://apple.co/jon-stewart-podcast and via RSS, with new episodes every week (where available).

The series is executive produced by showrunner Brinda Adhikari, alongside Stewart’s longtime manager James Dixon, and Richard Plepler through his Eden Productions, which has an exclusive overall production deal with Apple. Chris McShane is co-executive producer, Lorrie Baranek is supervising producer, and Chelsea Devantez is head writer.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce.
