Dan Fogler & Darryl "DMC" McDaniels Added To Awesome Mixer Vol. 2 After Party

XLEVELENT is pleased to welcome special guests Dan Fogler and Darryl "DMC" McDaniels to their immersive SDCC after party Awesome Mixer Vol. 2, powered by Crunchyroll, on Friday, July 19th at FLUXX nightclub (500 4th Ave). The event will feature live entertainment from previously announced DJs Hugh Carter, DJ Yondu, B. Squid and Adia Break. DMC will be performing a full 30-minute set. And Dan Fogler will join the Flux Capacitors for a special musical performance.

Darryl "DMC" McDaniels is a legendary musician. For more than 30 years he's been an undeniable influence on pop culture while remaining at the forefront of hip hop history. As a founding member of Run DMC, he is used to being an innovator and has most recently turned his creative talents to publishing comics under his Darryl Makes Comics brand. @kingdmc

Dan Fogler made his Broadway debut when he originated the role of William Barfée in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, for which he won the Theatre World Award for the original off-Broadway production and the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical in 2005 for the original Broadway production. Amongst the Comic Con crowd, Dan is most well known for his appearances as Jacob Kolwalski in J.K. Rowling's Fantastic Beasts films and his current role on The Walking Dead. @danfogler

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce.
