After one week at the top of the US box office charts, The Meg lost its spot to new arrival Crazy Rich Asians , which opened to a $25.2 million weekend, according to studio estimates. And that was just the three days, as the new movie actually opened Wednesday, earning $34 million in total, ahead of expectations. Yet Warner Bros. won't be too unhappy, since the studio owns both the top two movies. The Meg may have sunk to second place, but it took in $21.1 million and has earned more than $83 million in a couple of weeks.
