BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

TEEN TITANS GO! TO THE MOVIES Review 'Is it actually good?'

So we have the Avengers, Justice League, X-Force, Guardians of The Galaxy, and now The Teen Titans have their own film. There's a clever joke in here that makes fun of how many superhero teams the genre has now which just starts with the cleverness of this surprising animated film. I’ll admit I went in with such low expectations due to the fact that I am not a fan of the show, but a fan of the original animated show that the studio totally got rid of years ago and changed to this more kid friendly version. That is where i’ll eat my words. This film is a funny satire on the whole superhero genre and the directors and writers found a way to break away for a bit from their tv show roots and make something that is somewhat different at least for the first half of the film.

The first half of the film contains some very special satire jokes that had me laughing and grinning from ear to ear. Especially if you’re into superhero films or even not a fan of them. These jokes are made to address the tons of superhero movies the movies are now filled with. There’s unique cameos, tons of easter eggs into the DC universe, and beautiful animation that fills the screen with vivid colors. Now towards the back half after some time traveling events go on within the film I found myself getting board with the film falling into its tv roots again, with a lot more kid humor and stuff that wasn’t for me. Not a total killer on the film But still a fun movie at best. Teen Titans GO To the Movies is a surprising animated film that I thought would be garbage, but turned out to be a fun surprise. Vivid animation, great easter eggs and fantastic satire jokes that will make superhero fans and none superhero fans laugh.

Plus Nic Cage plays superman.. Which is a fantastic nod to Superman movie he was suppose to be in directed by Tim Burton.(and he's actually a great choice) Yes the back half falls a part a bit and gets away from the clever aspects that made the first half so great, going more into musical numbers that started to make the pacing fall apart, but I have to remember this film is made for kids and if you are taking to your family to see this film You’ll survive and end up liking the film and if you go by yourself as a comic book fan, then I think you’ll find yourself a little surprised like me.
