BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Movie Review: SKYSCRAPER 'Perfect homage to Die Hard & 80’s Action Movies'

Dwayne Johnson Plays Will Sawyer a man who’s stuck in a tower trying to save his family from terrorist. Sound Familiar? Skyscraper is a perfect homage to Die Hard and 80’s Action Movies alike. With that being said this film couldn’t be coming out at a more perfect time. It’s the middle of the summer nothing huge coming out till the end of the month, but now we have this thrilling action film that just asks the audience to grab the biggest bucket of popcorn with tons of butter and salt that they can, then run straight into the theater to sit back relax and enjoy this film.

The film has some quite astonishing visuals that really work and make not only the fires flash out, but also the heights of the tower stand out. This ends up putting you on the edge of your seat the whole time even if the story can feel predictable and foreshadows lots of events that you can see coming from a mile away. Somehow the Director Rawson Marshall Thurber who also wrote the film found a way to still keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next within this burning skyscraper. He found a way to pay homage to Die Hard and other action films without it feeling like a ripoff.

May I also acclaim him for not only making the action scenes feel like they’re kicking my back to the 80’s, but also for making Neve Campbell not just the damsel in distress wife, but for making her a Kick-Ass Wife who is up to the challenge of doing the same thing that her Husband Will Sawyer (Johnson) is up to doing. The Film is cliche, and finds itself in that campy action film, but it knows what it is and plays off it very well. I had a blast watching this film and even though it's not the most perfect film I’ve watched this year and it definitely won’t be making my top ten this year, I can wholeheartedly recommend you seeing Skyscraper especially if you're into action films or just Love THE ROCK.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
