You Were Never Really Here premiered at the 70th Cannes Film Festival in competition, where Lynne Ramsay won the Best Screenplay award and Joaquin Phoenix won the award for Best Actor. Acclaimed director Lynne Ramsay returns to the 2018 Sundance Film Festival with the film’s American debut.



A traumatized veteran, unafraid of violence, tracks down missing girls for a living. When a job spins out of control, Joe's nightmares overtake him as a conspiracy is uncovered leading to what may be his death trip or his awakening.
