According to deadline Liam Neeson is set to star in a remake of the hit Norwegian film In Order Of Disappearance , to be directed by Hans Petter Molland, helmer of the original that debuted to acclaim in Berlin in 2014. Frank Baldwin is writing the script. Neeson will play the protagonist role originated by Stellan Skarsgard . He’s a snowplow driver who doesn’t get worked up about much, until his son is murdered and it is made to look like an overdose, by criminals involved in drug deals. It turns the mild-mannered man’s attention from snow to body removal and becomes a tense action thriller with Dirty Harry-esque intensity, where bad guys pile up like snow drifts when the killers suspect a rival gang. The remake is being re-imagined to take place in a U.S. resort like Aspen with a different set of ethnic rivals than the Euro version, so Neeson’s character stays behind the wheel of the snow plow. Jack Black is in talks to star alongside Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart in Sony’s “ Jumanji ” reboot, TheWrap has learned. Jake Kasdan is directing the big-budget adaptation of Chris Van Allsburg’s 1981 book, which is being produced by Matt Tolmach and William Teitler. Van Allsburg will serve as an executive producer along with Johnson, Dany Garcia, Ted Field and Mike Weber. There has been some question on whether or not Supergirl , the Melissa Benoist series, would be renewed for a second season. CBS, made no secrets of its disappointment with ratings compared to the high per episode production cost. But a reprieve has come in the form of the CW, American homebase for Arrow, The Flash and DC's Legends Of Tomorrow , which has picked the show up. As to the physical make-up of the series, it will be interesting to see what impact the shifting of networks has considering that the CW does not fund to the same extent that CBS does. Unknown is whether or not the entire cast will make the network jump along with Benoist due to potential fiscal issues. Already there's been talk of production making a cost-cutting move to Vancouver, where the other DC series are shot by their producer, Greg Berlanti. The signs had been there for a while – Agent Carter had not exactly enjoyed the highest ratings and then star Hayley Atwell was cast as the lead in a new show (Conviction). And so today comes the final word: Peggy Carter has had her last adventure in its current form. While two seasons doesn't feel enough for a character who proved to be dynamic, funny, smart and capable, the series itself – which was used to fill the gap between the halves of Marvel's Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. (renewed a while ago) – never performed to the satisfaction of US network ABC. THR is reporting Lupita Nyong'o , who won an Oscar for her performance in 12 Years a Slave , is in negotiations to star opposite Chadwick Boseman in Marvel Studios’ Black Panther . Ryan Coogler , who wrote and directed Creed , is helming the comic book movie as well as writing the script. Boseman and Black Panther were introduced in Captain America: Civil War , which crossed the $700 million worldwide mark in under a week and a half. The character, whose name is T’Challa, is the warrior king of Wakanda, Marvel’s fictional African nation that is rich in an unbreakable alloy called vibranium. N’yongo’s character has not been revealed, although she will be the Panther’s love interest. Black Panther has a Feb. 2, 2018, release date, with production set to start in early 2017.
