Variety is reporting after much murmuring, Fox has confirmed that a new “ Prison Break ” limited series is officially a go. Dana Walden and Gary Newman, co-chairs and CEOs at Fox Television Group, told journalists the news on Thursday at Fox’s Television Critics Association panel. They also confirmed that original series stars Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell , as well as other original series actors, are also on board for the 10-episode project, which Walden called “a bit of a sequel.” She added that show creator Paul Scheuring “is writing it now” and it “picks up a few years after” the first series finale ended and “addresses questions that were set up during the series.” This news might be confusing to devout fans of the show who watched the straight-to-video film finale and therefore have questions about the casting news. “[Paul has] a very detailed and incredible story for while these characters become relevant again,” said Newman, while Walden added that there is

According to Deadline Up-and-coming Brit actor Taron Egerton is in early talks with Lionsgate to star in Robin Hood: Origins as Sherwood Forest’s most famous son. The negotiations have just started and a deal might not make but Egerton, who put in a star-making performance in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service , is clearly top of the list for the project. THR is reporting Colin Farrell has join the cast. The Irish actor has joined the cast of Warner Bros.' Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them , which will star Eddie Redmayne, Katherine Waterston, Ezra Miller and Alison Sudol . Farrell will play Graves, a wizard that Newt Scamander ( Redmayne ) meets in New York. The story centers on Newt's adventures in the secret community of witches and wizards as he attempts to document magical creatures. The events of Fantastic Beasts take place 70 years before Harry Potter reads Newt's book in school. Dan Fogler also was recently cast in the film. David Yates is directing the return to J.K. This is the contemporary Hollywood axiom that is about to bring Freddy Krueger back into the world. New Line Cinema is working on a second reboot of A Nightmare on Elm Street , after the previous 2010 reboot swung and missed. Orphan writer David Leslie Johnson will pen the script, and Toby Emmerich, Walter Hamada, and Dave Neustadter will oversee the production. No other details have been made available. The one positive is that Platinum Dunes, Michael Bay's paint-by-numbers production shingle who handled the 2010 remake, will have no involvement in this second attempt. Still, if New Line really wants to get anyone ready for Freddy, they'd do well to get original star Robert Englund back in the hat. Variety is reporting UFC fighter Ronda Rousey is making moves for her film career, and this latest project hits close to home. Paramount Pictures has secured the rights to Rousey’s New York Times bestselling autobiography “ My Fight/Your Fight ,” with Rousey playing herself. Mark Bomback on board to adapt the book, while Mary Parent is producing along with Rousey, with Bomback serving as exec producer. “It’s a real honor to be a part of bringing Ronda’s incredible story to the bigscreen,” Parent said. Written by Rousey with her sister Maria Burns Ortiz, “My Fight/Your Fight” is an inspirational story celebrating the accomplishments of Rousey, who faced extraordinary challenges on her path to glory. While it looked like Lionsgate might be pulling ahead in the rush to make a film about the April 2013 bomb attack on the Boston Marathon with news of Jake Gyllenhaal mulling the lead, CBS Films is countering by closing in on a deal for Peter Berg to direct Patriots’ Day . According to Variety , he’s in final negotiations to make the film, which would be another real-life tale after Lone Survivor and the upcoming Deepwater Horizon . And, assuming the actor/producer actually makes a deal himself, it would also mark Berg’s third film in a row with Mark Wahlberg , who has been trying to help get the movie made for a while, but might have to duck out of a lead role if scheduling becomes an issue. Patriots’ Day is based on the account of Boston Police commissioner Ed Davis, with the producers securing his life rights and setting Bridge Of Spies writer Matt Charman to work on the script.
