That one got answered today.
Via Twitter, Director Christopher McQuarrie revealed to The Hollywood Reporter that he'll write, direct, and co-produce it with Actor Tom Cruise. McQuarrie released this earlier on Monday:

Cruise will reprise his role as Ethan Hunt, and will produce with J.J. Abrams. This will be the fourth time that Cruise and McQuarrie will collaborate, with the director writing the script for Edge of Tomorrow, writing and directing Jack Reacher, as well as the WWII espionage film Valkyrie.
