Talking with io9 about his latest, supernatural conflict The Last Witch Hunter, Diesel let slip the news: “I’m excited as hell about xXx,” Diesel says. “D.J. Caruso is directing it, which is exciting. xXx is one of those films you do when you need to have a little fun. When the weight and pressures of all the other things have gone so far that you need to have a character that you can just have fun and more comment on life and comment on the outcome than being in it like Fast’s Dom Toretto Dom is very much the centre of the storm, Xander is more the guide to something else and you’re just with him.”
Of course, bringing up Dom there reminds us that, thanks to Fast’s blockbuster status and the fact that it has a 2017 release date hanging over it and a script that is closer to completion, Xander might still have to wait a little longer before he can have fun with his extreme sports/secret agent stylings.
