BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

#BeyondFest Present HE NEVER DIED Q&A With #HenryRollins

On Wednesday October 7th, Beyond Fest is proud to host punk icon Henry Rollins in conversation with Shepard Fairey alongside the West Coast Premiere of his new film HE NEVER DIED.

In a role he grabs by the throat, Rollins plays Jack, a dark longer whose life is turned upside down by the arrival of Andrea (Jordan Todosey), a girl claiming to be his daughter. Jack's routine of bingo and cannibalism is severely hampered when his past returns to haunt him as Andrea is kidnapped by men intent on killing him. With a history of murder to reference, Jack heads out on a bloody rampage of revenge and redemption.

Thrust forward by a force of nature performance which matches Rollins explosive onstage energy, HE NEVER DIED is a singular experience that is a weird and wonderful joy to watch.

After the film Rollins and director Jason Krawczyk will join Shepard Fairey in conversation in what is bound to be one of the most entertaining Q&A's hosted on the Beyond Fest stage.

On Friday October 9th, Beyond Fest is proud to host the West Coast Premiere and hometown throw down of THE MIND'S EYE: the explosive new film from Joe Begos that garnered him the Best Director Award at Fantastic Fest last week. Not only will Begos, Josh Eithier and Graham Skipper attend the show but synth legend Steve Moore will also perform live on stage before the screening!

Set in a snow covered 1990, THE MIND'S EYE picks up on drifter Zack Connors (Skipper), as he quietly passes through a sleepy New England town. Unfortunately for Zack, Dr. Michael Slovak (a gleefully evil John Speredakos), the leading authority on telekinesis, has other plans, forcefully admitting him into his institute to "help" him control his unique skill. True to form, things do not go as planned for Slovak or anyone who gets in the way of Zack and his mind-melting powers as the film escalates to outrageously gory heights.

With echoes of Cronenberg, Carpenter, Romero, Raimi et al , The Mind's Eye reunites the wolf pack of Almost Human brilliantly and is a quintessential midnight ride into hyper-violent-telekinetic-carnage that is not to be missed!

Doors open at 6:30PM and the shows begin at 7:30PM.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure
