Thor to put the hammer down and pick up the phone.

Paul Feig crossed the streams on Twitter this afternoon with the revelation that none other than Chris Hemsworth will portray the receptionist for the female cast of the new Ghostbusters. Hemsworth will be the counterpart to the role memorably played by Annie Potts in the original film. However, given Hemsworth’s “Sexiest Man Alive” exterior, it’s safe to say that his receptionist won’t merely be a male version of Janine, and will presumably be the centerpiece of a gender-flipped “hired for his looks” comedic scenario, the guy version of the “hot secretary” cliché.
Hemsworth has been making a concerted effort lately to expand his repertoire into more comedic directions, between this and his role in that other dusting-off of an ‘80s classic, Vacation. He will be taking messages for Kristen Wiig, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon when the new Ghostbusters opens next July.
