Enterprise to face The Wrath of New Guy.

With Simon Pegg writing at warp speed to finish the script for the third Star Trek film in time for its impending June start date, the actor/screenwriter has taken a quick breather to inform MTV that Idris Elba’s mystery villain will not be a familiar face from existing Trek lore, dodging the Khan issue that plagued Star Trek Into Darkness.
"It will be [an original character], yes,” says Pegg. “This is the five-year mission now, we're out there. We don't always have to keep bumping into the same people…So we're gonna try and reflect that in the movie."
Pegg also reiterates that the script, which is being co-written by Doug Jung, will hew much closer to the feel of the original series than the previous J.J. Abrams films have thus far. "We can invest in it the spirit of the show and get back to the essence of what it is, and so what we're hoping to do is make a Star Trek for today that doesn't forget where it came from."
The next Star Trek, directed by Justin Lin, is set for release on July 8, 2016.
