Dom’s family might get another member.

The Fast and Furious franchise has made a wonderful habit of taking the characters from its largely disconnected initial trio of films and banding them all together as a unit, but one notable exception from Team Toretto has been Eva Mendes’ customs agent, Monica Fuentes, who played a major role in 2 Fast 2 Furious and popped up in a mid-credits bit in Fast Five, but has been MIA otherwise. That may change for the upcoming eighth film, according to an Instgram post from Latino Review’s El Mayimbe.
"FAST & FURIOUS 8 #RUMOR With #fast7 now in the record books, the upcoming NY based #Fast8 story will depend on whether they can bring back Eva Mendes' character: US Customs Agent Monica Fuentes."
The proposed idea for the currently-untitled Fast 8 is to take the team to the congested streets of New York City, and if this rumor pans out, it sounds like Mendes will be playing a crucial role in whatever Dom and his merry band of gearheads are up to next. Kurt Russell is also expected to return for the next film.
