BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

2 Broke Girls S04E14 Recap: "And the Cupcake Captives"

This week Max and Caroline find themselves in a captivating cupcake conundrum.

Story by @ErikaAshley
As the season nears ending, “The Girls” Caroline Channing (Beth Behrs) and Max Black (Kat Dennings) enter into their day job at The Williamsburg Diner to find Han, Michael Moy, creating signature drinks that he’s named after each employee. The Girls poke fun at the idea while Han describes each drink and why they are named after the individual. Caroline and Max then retort with jabs at Han’s small stature and lack of sex life like usual. Next up while working in their cupcake shop next door to the diner Caroline sells out of promotional Max’s Homemade Cupcakes t-shirts to which Max fills her in on her most recent and largest order. Caroline chalks up her forgetfulness to planning and coordinator wedding details for their neighbor and friend Sophie’s bridal shower. Caroline jokingly pesters Max on her lack of support and assistance and Max insists she’s not into girly parties or wedding festivities in general. Sophie arrives at their cupcake shop window adorned in a bejeweled cupcake top demanding The Girls attention. Max tells Caroline that she supplied their entire apartment building with cupcake shirts but Caroline seems unenthused. Sophie again expresses her excitement about her upcoming bridal shower and Caroline reassures her she’s doing all she can to make it a dream come true.
The day of the shower arrives and Max chips in by decking out The Girls apartment with cheap black decorations insisting she doesn’t do well nor enjoys anything girly and pink when Caroline disapproves of her choice in streamer colors. The one thing the girls do agree on is the disgusting smell of the Polish food. Sophie arrives early dressed to the nines to practice her “surprise entrance” and compliments The Girls on their choice of high-end “Black Toilet Paper,” mistaking the black streams for T.P. While Sophie uses the little girl’s room, a knock at the door brings a team of FBI Agents to The Girls apartment. They bicker back and forth as to why the Feds are there and the FBI Agent explains that one of their neighbors has been holding three women hostage. One hostage escaped and altered the authorities causing the entire building to be evacuated. When Sophie returns the ladies’ room she thinks the FBI Agent is a hired male stripper and thanks The Girls while grinding against the agent whom stands terrified and confused. While waiting outside for the FBI to obtain the kidnapper, The Girls guess which neighbor could the captor and Sophie’s bridal shower guests begin to arrive. The police hold off the attendees but Sophie insists on opening her presents. She begins to open gifts in front of the building and sends several back simply because she doesn’t like them. The media surrounds the caution tape partition and a news anchor requests to speak with The Girls about the situation. Caroline uses the chance to be on TV to promote their cupcake business when Oleg appears and is momentarily mistaking for the kidnapper. Sophie boasts to her guests on the other side of the partitions, showing off the Groom-To-Be. The FBI brings out the real suspect that happens to be wearing a brand new Max’s Homemade Cupcake shirt.
The media swarm taking photos and the news anchor questions how Max’s Homemade Cupcakes is involved with the situation. Caroline freaks out about the coincidence and Max reassures her things will be fine. The media follow Max and Caroline to The Diner and Earl shows them a newspaper with bad news for their business written all over the front. Max reads further and finds their t-shirt in the Fashion Section labeled, “What Not to Wear Ever!” Han wanted to take the opportunity to promote his new drink selection and Sophie arrives expressing her depression due to the failed bridal shower and gives The Girls a big box that was sent to Max and Caroline’s apartment. The Girls open the box to find the remaining stock of t-shirts returned back to them from the upscale boutique they partnered to sell the shirts and a note terminating their contract. Frustrated The Girls find themselves thinking of ways to bounce back from the Cupcake Catastrophe and see Han giving an interview to a news anchor outside their cupcake shop. Caroline asks Max to give an interview to the news in hopes of cleaning up their business’s image. Max refuses at first but then agrees and begins to interview live on news but botches horribly. Caroline jumps in and tries to sweet talk her way into the public’s forgiveness. Later that evening Caroline and Sophie walk home to their rundown apartment building. During their walk Sophie thanks Caroline for attempting to throw her a bridal shower. When they arrive at Caroline’s apartment Max and Sophie’s friends surprise her with a perfectly pink bridal shower. Caroline thanks Max for going out of her way to pull off a great surprise and Max brushes it off admitting she was drunk and couldn’t help herself. Caroline asks Max how their business will recover from the fiasco to pay off a large loan they took out to boost sales of their shirts and Max simply tells her they’ll find a way, just like they always do. Closing credits show The Girls bank account once up to $2,675.00 took a huge hit and dipped them to $1,475.00

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
