After a heated bidding war, Sony is in talks to acquire a pitch set in the world of “Robin Hood.”
Cory Goodman and Jeremy Lott brought the pitch to Sony and sources say it sold in the low seven-figure range. Sony had no comment.
Plot details are vague other than that it’s a re-imagining of the classic “Robin Hood” tale.
Insiders say Working Title and Paramount had also circled the project but it was Sony and president of production Michael De Luca who ultimately landed it.
Universal Pictures was the last studio to take on the property with Ridley Scott directing and Russell Crowe starring. That film, considered somewhat of a disappointment, made more than $300 million worldwide.
