Alright ladies.
Though this past weekend was a holiday in the US, the team behind Magic Mike XXL, the sequel to the 2012 stripper hit, quietly kicked off shooting in the skies above Myrtle Beach, as documented by the movie’s cinematographer, one Peter Andrews.
Yes, that’s just one of the cinematic alter egos of Steven Soderbergh. He is stepping back to let long time collaborator Gregory Jacobs wield the megaphone for this one, but is staying actively involved through shooting and editing the final product.
With Channing Tatum once again starring and co-writing with Reid Carolin, the new Mike film reportedly finds the strippers on a road trip to different clubs, which leads to even more mad experiences with audiences.
“You've seen Magic Mike – now multiply that,” Tatum told GQ earlier this year. “Mob mentality. It's just exponentially crazier. I thought it was absolutely insane.”
