At Wondercon this weekend, Disney took the opportunity to reveal more about upcoming Star Wars Rebels, the show that will take over from Clone Wars. Included in the presentation was the first, brief clip from the show.
Watch the clip after the Jump...
Introduced by voice actress Vanessa Marshall, who plays Hera Syndulla, the clip finds the heroes’ ship, the Ghost, under attack from Imperial TIE Fighters and Hera fighting back while grousing about the team’s leader, Kanan (voiced, though you don’t really hear him in the footage) by Freddie Prinze Jr. Also featured in the clip is grumpy astromech droid C1-10P, or Chopper, as he’s commonly known.
The series, set 14 years after the events of Revenge Of The Sith and four years before Luke sets off on his adventure in Star Wars, focuses on a young core group of characters, including “Cowboy” Jedi Kanan. He’s in hiding from the Empire’s death sweep and refusing to use his powers to help the fight; Ezra Bridger; Zeb Orrelios and Hera. Flying aboard the Ghost, they’re trying to avoid capture by the Imperial forces led by the evil Inquisitor.
