How I Met Your Mother's Charlene Amoia faces her fears with upcoming horror lead
She may be best known for her wildly-funny and super-sweet turn on a hit TV show, but How I Met Your Mother's Charlene Amoia is about to shake-up the cocktail that his on-screen persona.
The actress behind Wendy, Barney's former love interest on the CBS hit, is shredding her bright and bubbly act for one of 2014's most anticipated fright-flicks, Vitals.
Already being compared to the now-classic Saw, the upcoming release tells the unnerving story of a man who wakes up in a bathtub to discover his organs have been stolen, and it's up to his doctor wife (Amoia) to help solve the bloody puzzle.
Funnily enough, Amoia is horror movie-phobic - noting that she distances from any film or series that's strategy is to scare. It goes without saying then, that she hadn't even seen Saw.
"I'm not a fan of scary things", Amoia said in a recent set interview. "They get into my psyche."
"I watched [Saw] to kind of get an idea of the world", she says, but was left completely rattled by James Wan's horrific masterpiece.
Much like her former HIMYM co-stars, Amoia's making real waves in cinema; in addition to Vitals, she co-stars in anticipated award-worthy fare like Adrenaline, about a semi-paraplegic, and Fat, about an overweight man's search for love.
Vitals is released later this year.
