MGM is in talks with Ice Cube to star in and produce a third “Barbershop” movie after a decade-long hiatus.
The project will also be produced by Cube’s producing partner Matt Alvarez, Bob Teitel and George Tillman Jr.
The original 2002 film, directed by Tim Story and set in Chicago, starred Cube and Anthony Anderson. The 2004 sequel “Barbershop 2: Back in Business,” featured the same cast with Kevin Rodney Sullivan directing.
The two “Barbershop” films combined for about $140 million in worldwide box office.
Cube was most recently seen in “Ride Along” and will star in “22 Jump Street.”
