Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Alan Taylor is prepping to begin testing actors and actresses for the sci-fi feature project, which is being made by Paramount, Annapurna Pictures and Skydance Productions. The testing will begin next next week, with Taylor seeing Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke, Brie Larson (The Spectacular Now) as well as another actress vying for the role of young Sarah Connor . Margot Robbie’s name has also surfaced in connection with the role. Connor was played by Linda Hamilton in the classic movies directed by James Cameron. The character is the future mother of John Connor, who grows up to be the leader of the human resistance in the war between humanity and cyborgs. Names of those in contention began surfacing earlier this week. Taylor will also be searching for his young Kyle Reese , the man who will father John. Exciting news for Netflix subscribers (*other streaming sites are available) with the announcement of a huge production partnership deal with Marvel . The studio’s TV arm and the TV Network are developing four 13-part superhero series, kicking off in 2015. Those will lead into what they’re calling “a miniseries programming event”, a version of Marvel’s The Defenders that “reimagines a dream team of self-sacrificing, heroic characters”. The first Marvel cab off the Netflix rank will be a 13-part Daredevil series, followed by Jessica Jones , Iron Fist and Luke Cage . Thor: The Dark World Review By: MattInRC A Thor -sized helping of Phase 2 is the best Marvel sequel so far. Back in the summer, we wrote a glowing review of Iron Man 3, but since then our opinion has noticeably dulled. Disappointed at the lack of 'Iron Man moments' and still seething over the treatment of The Mandarin, we recently demoted it out of our top 10 list of 2013. It therefore shouldn't come as a shock that we were worried whether Marvel Studios had lost a bit of their mojo post-Avengers. Luckily, Thor: The Dark World relieves any anxiety, delivering a deeper, tonally darker production that is also funny at times while setting its sights clearly on a larger-scale Phase 2. Twentieth Century Fox has begun negotiations with James Mangold to return for another installment of The Wolverine , with Hugh Jackman bringing back his signature character with the razor sharp adamantium hooks. This comes after The Wolverine played very strongly overseas, enough to now sit as the second highest grossing X-Men film of all time. The film has grossed $413 million worldwide, with $132 million domestic and $280 million in international revenue. Here’s where it is right now. Mangold is making a deal to write the treatment, with X-Men franchise matriarch Lauren Shuler Donner producing. The storyline is being kept under tight wraps.
