LEE DANIELS’ THE BUTLER has Oscars written all over it.. and by that I mean for production design, makeup, costume, everything that has to do with making this movie looks and feels like the eras that the lead character Cecil Gaines ( Whitaker ) goes through. Whitaker himself is remarkable, sadly everybody else, or should I say every other famous faces in this movie, including Oprah Winfrey’s comeback to acting, are just along for the ride, only one or two or three of them would bear significance while the rest have little to no impact whatsoever. This film could have so much potential and I’m not going to lie, I did enjoy some moments, and my goodness, every actor featured in this film looked and probably even behaved almost exactly like the real life characters they portray, especially Ashton Kutcher . I still don’t think Ashton is a great actor but the man sure does resemble Jobs, it’s quite eerie. But JOBS falls short in a lot of ways. It’s a nice effort, you gotta give the filmmakers kudos for trying, but the film falls short. It only takes one person to start a revolution. Winter's Tale is headed to the big screen on Feb. 14, 2014 in the U.S. On Friday, the studio announced the release date for the drama, which stars Colin Farrell as a thief named Peter Lake who falls in love with a dying girl played by Jessica Brown Findlay. Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly also star in the film set in a mythic New York City. The fallout from the divorce of former filmmaking sweethearts Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures continues. With Legendary already agreeing to drop future financial interest in the Man Of Steel franchise for a cut of Interstellar’s action, the two companies have now parted ways over Jeff Bridges adventure The Seventh Son . Legendary originally financed the fantasy film, which sees Bridges as a warrior wizard who's training Ben Barnes to fight witches. It’s already been plagued with delays, including issues in completing the effects in time for the release date. Up until last month, Warners was still planning to release the film, having brought Bridges, Barnes, Antje Traue, Kit Harington and director Sergei Bodrov to the San Diego Comic-Con to promote the movie. Kick-Ass 2 Review By: MattInRC The wild Kick-Ass 2 delivers all the fun and gore of the first, even if it betrays some of its morals. Comic book movies have followed a parallel path with the Sci-Fi & Action genres ever since Bryan Singer's X-Men : due to the nature of the characters, it's perfectly acceptable to display implausible violence. Whether it's watching an entire city leveled or some fantastic move by a superhuman or mutant, we've been willing to play along. But when a comic book film proposes that it's better than that - and then proceeds to display the same sort of images - casual fans might have a hard time distinguishing between it and the litany of films which occupy Summer theaters. This is where Kick-Ass 2 finds itself, a totally enjoyable experience even if it's exactly opposite of what it wants to be.
