Warner Bros. Animation have teamed up with Man Of Steel director Zack Snyder to create a special two minute cartoon short in honour of Superman's 75th Anniversary, touching on (almost) every incarnation you can think of - from Siegel and Shuster's original Action Comics cover to Henry Cavill's British Blue Boy Scout - and making its viewers long to rewatch Superman II just one more time in the process.
Bruce Timm was the animation guru in charge of it all, a veteran of such shows as Batman: The Animated Series and Justice League Unlimited, and the man who had to work out what was worthy of the cut and what wasn't. In short: no Brandon Routh, and no Dean Cain, but somehow an 1978 Atari 2600 video game snuck in, as did Jimmy Olsen's time as Turtle Man.
Still, despite the absence of Teri Hatcher's Lois Lane or Peter Cook's Nigel from Supergirl, the piece is a highly rewatchable triumph - if only because of the bit where Supes is in a boxing ring.
