The last time Emma Watson collaborated with writer-director Stephen Chbosky, we got the delightful The Perks Of Being A Wallflower, which Chbosky adapted from his novel. They’re reuniting for a new project, this time working from Adena Halpern’s novel 29 for a film called While We’re Young.
This time, however, Chbosky is handing over script duties to (500) Days Of Summer duo Michael H. Weber and Scott Neustadter for a plot that appears to find a new way to tell a well-used fictional staple: the body-swap.
We’re introduced to a 75-year-old woman who still wants to squeeze as much out of life as possible, and who is happier spending time with her 29-year-old granddaughter than her 55-year-old daughter. On her birthday, she’s granted one wish and becomes 29 again for a day, spending it having an adventure with her granddaughter.
