Jessica Alba is perhaps not the first person you might think of to play a scheming villain. Which probably makes her a good casting choice for Fanboys director Kyle Newman’s new film, Barely Lethal.
Alba is indeed set to play Victoria Knox, the former associate of a teen assassin called Megan (Hailee Steinfeld), who becomes angry when the younger woman decides she’s had enough of the contract killing life, fakes her own death and enrols at a suburban high school. Which, as Chloe Grace Moretz might be able to tell you from Kick-Ass 2 and the upcoming Carrie, might be an even more dangerous place to be.
Samuel L Jackson is on board as Steinfeld’s mentor, with Newman directing from a script by John D’Arco. Barely Lethal kicks off filming in October.
Next up for Alba is Machete Kills, set for release here on October 11. She’ll also be seen in Dear Eleanor, Stretch and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, which will hit our screens on August 29, 2014.
