With the film set for a late – no pun intended – summer release, the marketing team behind Ryan Reynolds / Jeff Bridges action comedy R.I.P.D. has come out firing with a new featurette about the movie.
It’s a blend of bits from the trailer that we’ve already seen, some fresh footage (particularly the opening moments between Reynolds and soon-to-be-former partner Kevin Bacon) and talking heads with the cast explaining what it’s all about.
R.I.P.D. sees Reynolds play Nick Walker, a 15-year veteran police officer who dies on the job when a raid goes badly. Drawn up to heaven, he find himself in the titular police department, a unit charged with making sure that nefarious spirits unwilling to stay dead and buried don’t cause havoc in the mortal realm. Nick is partnered with Roy Pulsipher (Bridges), a cranky, wise, 200-year-old (technically) cowboy.
Soon they’re on the beat, with Nick discovering that angelic police officers are more durable than humans and that something nasty is going down among the souls on Earth…
