AMC PARTNERS WITH ART HOUSE CONVERGENCE TO SNEAK PEEK THE NETWORK’S UPCOMING DRAMA SERIES “LOW WINTER SUN” AT SELECT THEATERS NATIONWIDE ON MONDAY, JULY 29TH

Screening to Benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of America

To celebrate the launch of AMC’s newest original drama, “Low Winter Sun,” the network has partnered with Art House Convergence to offer the public a sneak peek of the series at more than twenty theaters across the country. On the evening of Monday, July 29th the participating theaters will screen the first episode of the ten-part series at 8pm PT. “Low Winter Sun” is set to premiere on AMC on Sunday, August 11 at 10:00pm ET/PT following the premiere of the first of the final eight episodes of “Breaking Bad.”

Set in Detroit, “Low Winter Sun” is a contemporary story of murder, deception, revenge and corruption in a world where the line between cops and criminals is blurred. This gritty, edgy and provocative crime drama begins with an act of retribution -- the murder of a dirty cop by two fellow Detroit detectives, Frank Agnew (Mark Strong) and Joe Geddes (Lennie James). Seemingly the perfect crime, in reality the murder activates forces that will forever alter Agnew’s life, and pull him into the heart of the Detroit underworld.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
