Back in January, word broke that US online store giant Amazon was looking to use original content to compete with Netflix’s offerings. The company’s first pickup was the long-gestating Zombieland TV show, which continues the adventures of Tallahassee, Columbus, Wichita and Little Rock. Well, things were much further along than first thought, and now, not only is the trailer online, but the pilot is soon going to be free to watch on Amazon.
Though it clearly has to do the heavy lifting of introducing the world of the 2009 comedy hit to new viewers, and doesn’t boast the movie’s cast, the pilot – directed by Eli Craig and overseen by Zombieland writers Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese – clearly aims to carry the anarchic spirit of the film.
With Kirk Ward as Tallahassee, Tyler Ross as Columbus, Maiara Walsh as Wichita and Izabela Vidovic as Little Rock, the trailer boasts plenty of zombie-slaying action and even the rules for survival.
