BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

Justice League Story Line Revealed?

That big-screen Justice League flick might still be looking for a director, but writer Will Beale is hard at work on the script—and rumor has it this is the storyline he's adapting.

Latino Review reports that Beale is looking to some classic 1980s Justice League comics for inspiration, specifically Justice League of America issues 183-185, written by Gerry Conway and illustrated by George Perez.

The storyline centers on a plot by Darkseid to destroy the Earth, which at least meshes with other rumors that have hinted Darkseid could be the story's Big Bad.

Here's Latino Review's description:

"In a nutshell, plotwise, the three issue arc involves Darkseid planning the destruction of Earth by blasting it with a ray that'll move Apokolips into the Earth's place. Sounds like some Armageddonesque end of the Earth as we know it kind of stakes fit for summer tentpole event film if you ask me." Of course, this is still a rumor at the moment, but it only makes sense that Warner Bros. would look to a classic Justice League comic storyline to launch the film. Christopher Nolan had great success adapting classic Batman tales with a new twist in his Dark Knight saga, and it stands to reason they'd emulate that model moving forward with something of this scope. There are a lot of good stories to build on, and it gives the fans a familiar thread that doesn't feel like the series has been gutted for the big screen.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
