BOB MARLEY: ONE LOVE Featurette

No Cameos By The Avengers In Iron Man 3

Marvel films are notorious for their cameos. They were a major part of plotting their biggest film to date—The Avengers. Speaking of the superhero team, don't expect them to come to Tony Stark's rescue. In Iron Man 3 (aside from War Machine), he won't have any extra support.

The Avengers experience had a major effect on Stark. According to Marvel chief Kevin Feige, the hero's world has been rocked. He tells Empire Magazine that he's a changed man.

"By the end of Avengers, when a portal is opened up in Manhattan and he's met Thor and The Hulk and the Chitauri are coming down on him, he realises that he doesn't know everything; we think that has had an effect on his psyche, and then his world is blown out from underneath him.

"Don't count on Stark's superhero peers to bail him out. They've got their own problems to deal with. Iron Man 3 will be light on surprise appearances.

"Iron Man 3 doesn't feature any of the other Avengers, or Nick Fury showing up, or any of those world-blending conceits that the Phase One films had," Feige reveals. "You have to keep in mind that Iron Man 3 had been in the works for almost a year, year and a half before The Avengers was released. We're sticking to the vision for these films, and showing once again that these characters are just as interesting alone as they are together."

Since this is the "final" installment of the Iron Man series, perhaps it doesn't need all the bells and whistles? At this point, Robert Downey Jr. and his supporting cast are more than capable of carrying the film. Iron Man 3 opens in theaters May 3.

Naked Gun Reboot On It's Way

If you've seen Naked Gun - or The Naked Gun: From The Files Of Police Squad ! to give its full title - you'll know that it's a comedic masterpiece that springboards off astonishing levels of silliness and random spoofery. Leslie Nielsen's Frank Drebin is a loveable buffoon for the ages, even when he's discussing his dicky prostrate. Do not, however, expect the Ed Helms -starring reboot to adopt exactly the same tack. According to Naked Gun director/co-writer David Zucker, talking up Airplane!'s screening at Nashville's Wild West Comedy Festival, the new version will not attempt to hit the same spoofy sweet spot as the Zuckers and Jim Abrahams' 1988 comedy. "It won’t be like the Naked Gun that I did," Zucker revealed. "It may be good, but it won’t be that kind of movie. They’re going to use the title. They asked me if I wanted to produce. They’re nice people, but they don’t want to do that style of spoof that I do." One departure...
