Chris Hemsworth is attached to star in writer-director Stephen Gaghan’s crime thriller “Candy Store,” a representative for the film has told TheWrap.
The story follows an elite, deep-cover operative who loses everything, ultimately disappearing into Brooklyn, where he must start again. He winds up as a beat up cop, only to discover the global organization he was dedicated to fighting is operating in his new backyard.
A number of other actors have come up in association with the project, including Brad Pitt and Christoph Waltz.
In addition writing and directing "Candy Store," Gaghan, who won an Oscar for "Traffic," is producing with Alli Shearmur.
Hemsworth is also being eyed for a role in “Triumph AKA 40 Summers Ago,” the Steve McQueen biopic that is set up at Sony with Jerry Weintraub producing. Hemsworth’s younger brother, Liam, has also has an offer for "Triumph," which follows the true story of McQueen and his relationship to his stunt double, Bud Elkins. Brandon and Philip Murphy are writing the script.

His credits include "The Avengers," “Thor” and “Snow White and the Huntsman.” Liam Hemsworth’s credits include “The Hunger Games” and “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.” Gaghan’s credits include “Traffic” and “Syriana.”
